A protagonist like Arisu may fare better thanks to his exceptional photographic memory, while antagonists like Aguni may suffer the same fate Squid Game’s Deok-su does in the show.
10 Chōta Segawa
Chōta is depicted as a somewhat cowardly and meek supporting character who doesn’t really have a lot of brave moments in the show. However, he does go along with Karube’s idea to sacrifice himself so that Arisu could go on in the game of “Hide-and-seek.”
It’s not too far-fetched to imagine that Chōta would perform the same selfless act in Squid Game. Although Chōta’s generous acts are admirable, they would mean that he has little to no chance of winning the competition.

As the stereotypical, somewhat dim-witted sidekick, Karube probably wouldn’t make it very far in Squid Game. He relies on Arisu’s intelligence to get through games like “Dead or Alive,” which wouldn’t always be an option in Il-nam’s competition.
In terms of brute strength, there are characters like Aguni who are far stronger than Karube, as demonstrated in the lethal game of “Tag” on the show. Karube could easily slip up and make a fatal mistake without Arisu’s help, or he could also choose to sacrifice himself in the marbles game if he pairs up with the protagonist.

That said, like Deok-su and Karube, Aguni isn’t strategic or brilliant enough to get through the games on his own. He relies on characters like Hatter to guide him, and fans may recall how lost Aguni becomes without him. Aguni would be useful in group games that require brute strength like tug of war and the special game but would perform poorly everywhere else.
7 Saori Shibuki
The closest Squid Game counterpart Shibuki has is Mi-nyeo, as they both use sexual desire and manipulation to get ahead in their respective competitions. As they’ve both shown fans, this isn’t exactly a good long-term strategy, as the results can be messy and unpredictable.
Shibuki could manipulate someone like Deok-su to get her through the earlier rounds, but she would have to rely on herself if anything goes wrong. Thankfully, she has shown that she can be cutthroat, as she causes another player’s death in the game “Dead or Alive.” It’s a crucial skill to have in any deadly competition, but, like Mi-nyeo, being cruel and manipulative can only get her so far in Squid Game.
6 Hikari Kuina
If there’s one moment in Alice in Borderland that highlights just how much of a badass Kuina can be, it’s when she risks her life to ensure Ann gets away from the Last Boss. It’s revealed that Kuina actually has martial arts training, which she uses to defeat the armed antagonist.
Her agility and strength would come in handy in games like red light, green light, tug of war, and even the riots. She’s also proved that she can be smart about who she sides with, as she recognizes Arisu and Chishiya’s intelligence immediately. She likely wouldn’t make it to the very end of Squid Game, but she has a good chance of surviving games that don’t require an extraordinarily high IQ.
5 Ann Rizuna
Ann is one of the smartest characters in Alice in Borderland, which could be her main advantage in Squid Game. Fans may remember how she uses her forensic knowledge to solve the “Witch Hunt” game. She’s also able to quickly get the answer in the “Light Bulb” round.
While she’s extremely intelligent, there’s no telling how capable she is in games that require strength. Fans who are familiar with the cunning and egoistic Hatter may not like the idea that he could win in Squid Game, but it’s definitely possible. He’s charming and poses himself as a strong character, so he’d be able to amass a following as Deok-su does in the show.
He also has an additional advantage, which is that he’s way smarter than Deok-su. Hatter is able to manipulate hundreds of people to do his bidding, so he’d have no problem using other players, much like how Sang-woo tricks Ali to survive the marbles game. He would probably be responsible for his own undoing, though, as viewers know that arrogant players are often targeted by other competitors in Squid Game.
3 Yuzuha Usagi
The first thing fans learn about Usagi is that she’s incredibly athletic. She scales walls in the game of “Tag” and runs for an unbelievably long time in “Distance.” Her skills would be useful in games that necessitate strength, endurance, and agility, like tug of war and red light, green light.
Usagi can also quickly recognize when someone else has a better idea than she does. She understands Arisu is probably right in “Tag” so she works with him to survive the game. The pair become pretty much unstoppable in every round, as Usagi’s strength is combined with Arisu’s intelligence. However, she likely wouldn’t fare too well on her own and would falter in rounds like the marble game and sugar honeycombs without Arisu’s guidance.

He’s shown that he can be strategic, often hanging back and observing as others play the games before joining in. What’s more, his fight against Niragi underscores his strength and agility, which are necessary skills in both of the life-or-death competitions. The only reason he wouldn’t win in Squid Game is that, unlike characters like Arisu and Gi-hun, he’s nonchalant and doesn’t seem to have the drive or passion to do his best in every round.
1 Ryōhei Arisu
There’s no questioning the fact that Arisu is the one character from Alice in Borderland who could breeze through the rounds in Squid Game. He’s essentially a smarter version of Gi-hun but is also empathetic and brave.
Arisu has shown that he can think on his feet and use his photographic memory to his advantage in games like “Dead or Alive” and “Light Bulb.” He’d likely figure out how to survive the sugar honeycombs game much faster than Gi-hun did. He would also be able to apply brilliant strategies to games like tug of war, marbles, and red light, green light. Beyond just winning the game, Arisu would carry over a similar desire of wanting to kill the gamemasters in Alice in Borderland. Just like how Gi-hun wants to return to end the cruel contest, Arisu would be able to deduce exactly how to bring down the VIPs and stop the competition.
