Demi Moore received reportedly over $12 million for her performance in Striptease. Her flame may be low, but, certainly, it is not out.

10 The Joneses (2009) – 63%

Kate Jones (Demi Moore) and Steve Jones (David Duchovny) move their family to a suburban neighborhood. But there is a big secret about the Joneses. They are not who they seem to be. In reality, they are a sales team of marketers who strategically stock their products by various companies to create visibility in a targeted consumer market.

The pairing of Duchovny and Moore could not save the movie. Not resonating high on the laugh meter, the film comes across as boring and full of mockery.

9 The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996) – 71%

The Hunchback of Notre Dame is Disney’s film of the famed deformed bell ringer Quasimodo (voiced by Tom Hulce) of Notre Dame who falls in love with a gypsy dancer, Esmeralda (voiced by Demi Moore). Esmeralda helps him gain independence and discover it does not matter what is on the outside, it is what on the inside that counts.

It is the seventh animated film produced and released during the Disney Renaissance in which Walt Disney Animation Studios returned to producing critically and commercially successful animated films that were mostly based on well-known stories. This was from 1989 to 1999. This is similar to the era of the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s that help build Disney Studios.

8 Beavis And Butt-Head Do America (1996) 72%

MTV’s most talked about comedy duo of the 1990s created by Mike Judge hit the big screen again in Beavis and Butt-Head Do America. This time they are in search of a stolen television set.

Demi Moore plays the voice of Dallas Grimes and stars with then-husband Bruce Willis where he voices the character, Muddy Grimes. Muddy offers $10,000 to Beavis and Butt-Head to kill his wife but they mistake it for something else. When they meet the beautiful but crazy Dallas, she offers them twice as much to do the same to him. Because of Beavis and Butt-Head’s stellar IQ, there is a big misunderstanding that leads to a hilarious situation.

7 Love Sonia (2018) – 72%

Love Sonia is an India based film inspired by true events. Two sisters torn apart (Mrunal Thakur and Riya Sisodiya), one is sold into sex trafficking by her father and the other while trying to rescue her gets trapped in it as well. Demi Moore cameos in this film as Selma, someone who is trying to help the sisters, but her role is marginal.

Excellent performances by both Thakur and Sisodiya, and the film has great subject-matter, but the audience did not find it new and refreshing. Instead, it came across as generic.

6 Deconstructing Harry (1997) – 73%

In Deconstructing Harry, Moore plays a fictional character from Harry Block’s (Woody Allen) best-selling book, a psychiatrist who falls in love with her patient (Stanley Tucci) but after two years and birth of a child becomes deeply religious and fall for another patient. Block is often haunted by the characters of his book from all the dark secrets he revealed about his best friends.

Moore is part of a well-ensemble cast that falls in line with other Allen films, which are oddly funny and a taste that is acquired.

5 Ghost (1990) – 73%

Arguably, her best-known role to date, Demi Moore plays Molly Jensen, a woman whose husband (Patrick Swayze) is killed. His spirit remains to help her escape the danger that she is in with the help of a psychic Oda Mae Brown played by Whoopi Goldberg in which she received Best Supporting Actress for her role.

Ghost has one of the most memorable scenes in movie history because of its simplicity and sexiness, the pottery making scene. In a white mud-splattered shirt, Moore is making pottery with music playing in the background. As that song ends, the jukebox starts to play “Unchained Melody”. Tom Cruise portrays a military lawyer who defends two marines charged for murder. But they claim that they were acting under orders. Demi Moore plays Cruise’s higher ranking co-counsel Lt. Cdr. JoAnne Galloway who challenges and pushes Cruise to be his best that sometimes causes a conflict between the two.

A Few Good Men was the number film in the country for three consecutive weeks that year. This film is driven by heavy dialogue and outstanding acting by Cruise, Moore and Jack Nicholson. Nicholson’s portrayal of Colonel Nathan R. Jessup steals every scene that he is in. Most notable is the courtroom scene, where Cruise vehemently asks him about ordering the “Code Red”.

3 Margin Call (2011) – 87%

Margin Call takes place within 24 hours about and investment bank on Wall Street during the 2008 financial crisis. Demi Moore is chief risk financial officer Sarah Robertson whose firm sets her up to take the blame and decides to sell the worthless stock before the financial community can take notice because their projection of losses is too substantial for the company to overcome.

Critics loved the film, slating it as one of the best movies concerning Wall Street ever made. The film has an all-star cast led by Kevin Spacey, Zachary Quinto, Jeremy Irons, and Stanley Tucci and made the financial crisis of 2008 compelling and easy to understand.

2 If These Walls Could Talk (1996) – 88%

Co-starring Sissy Spacek and Cher, If These Walls Could Talk is about three different women and their stories of abortion in the same house that take place 22 years apart in 1952, 1974, and 1996.

The film became the highest-rated movie in HBO history and was nominated for four Primetime Emmy Awards and three Golden Globe Awards. Demi Moore plays Claire Donnelly in 1952 about a widowed nurse from Chicago who becomes pregnant by her brother-in-law and decides to get an abortion so as not to shame the family of her late husband. She has the procedure performed on her kitchen table but later dies due to severe blood loss caused by the procedure.

1 I Am Patrick Swayze (2019) – 100%

The film reflects on the life of the late Patrick Swayze as told by the people who loved him and knew him the best. Includes interviews with his wife, friends, and co-stars. I Am Patrick Swayze consists of stories about the rough exteriors of Swayze, but the complexities of a man trying to get the fullness out of life and being true to himself and others. As he states in this documentary, “You are only on this planet for so long, go for it now.”

Moore speaks on their friendship and their working relationship stating that Patrick had something about him that was very rugged, but also had that beautiful, gentle, sensuous ability to move.
