10 Little-Known Details In Marvel’s Avengers Video Game Everyone Completely Missed
Marvel’s Avengers may not please every fan of the comic book franchise, but the video game is packed with Easter eggs and cool hidden details.

The Marvel’s Avengers game began life as an ambitious title which perhaps failed to miss the mark for many. However, continued updates and a compelling campaign have certainly kept a loyal fan base entertained for an extended period of time. It’s really only these hardcore fans who may have spotted all the tiny details that the developers included into the game.
Both Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix worked hard to create a game that honored Marvel comic book history. The future for the title is definitely bright, but when looking at what the game is thus far, there are definitely some smaller details that tease what’s to come or act as a great Easter egg for fans of the source material.
10 Ultron Origins
Interestingly, robotics have played hugely into the main campaign of the game. One of the enemy types that players consistently face off against are A.I.M. androids. Dr Hank Pym has also developed some robots of his own, which are helping him out around the Ant Hill.
All of these technological signs certainly point to the idea that Ultron may be included in the game down the line, perhaps as a result of both A.I.M. and Pym’s experimentation in the field. There is a great range of heroes who could join the character roster later on, but Ultron may be the most important antagonist to be teased.
9 Room For Expansion
Speaking of character expansions, the game developers have certainly left the various locations open to new additions to the roster. Previously, it was fairly obvious that Hawkeye would be joining the game, thanks to his empty room on the Chimera.
When looking at the layout of the Helicarrier though and other locations including the Ant Hill, there are clearly areas that have been shut off or perhaps seemingly been forgotten about. These small details are signs of more heroes joining the Avengers; the likes of Black Panther and Captain Marvel deserve their own space aboard the ship.
8 Alternate Character Skins
The game has also been experimenting with the idea of changing a character’s identity slightly through various costumes and skins. This was previously attempted with a blonde-haired Black Widow, suggesting the development into Yelena Belova. The same could be said for Hawkeye, who was giving his Ronin appearance to differentiate himself from Kate Bishop.
It may seem obvious but has somehow gone unnoticed. The first time this technique was officially used for a genuinely new character was the addition of Maestro, using the Hulk model. This opens the doors for the likes of Red Hulk, official confirmation of Yelena Belova, and perhaps other similarly designed characters.
7 Future Hero Teases
Plenty of Marvel heroes have almost received their time in the spotlight and their own video game title, although many of these have been canceled and fallen by the wayside. The Easter eggs for other heroes throughout the Avengers game, though, likely points to their future debut in the roster.
From a film poster teasing a She-Hulk villain to a Captain Marvel-themed bedroom and a prison cell that seems to be holding Daisy Johnson, aka Quake, there’s a lot of tiny details which point to a much larger universe — one that players will hopefully be able to engage with soon.
6 A-Day Resistance
There’s a surprising amount of continuity within the Avengers game, which allows the campaign to feel like a more authentic story. One such example is the many links between the opening A-Day scene and the Resistance members, whom players meet later on.
Many of these Inhumans, who would have been at the ground level of the disaster on A-Day, later appear as part of the Resistance. For instance, the young man who helps teleport players between locations is the same boy with whom Kamala Khan interacts during the Avengers celebration event.
5 Upcoming Regions
One of the criticisms levied at Square Enix was that there were very few locations to explore in the game that were actually inspired by the comics. New York barely gets a look, and special areas like Atlantis or the Savage Land are nowhere to be seen.
With the Wakanda DLC coming up, there’s at least some confirmation that the African nation will be open to players. On Thor’s missions, though, Asgardian magic indicates that he may have to visit his home to get to the bottom of Loki’s mischievous plots. The existence of the Kree and tease of a galaxy beyond also indicates that their home-world Hala may be visited.
4 Noteworthy Marvel Villains
Another point raised about the game was that different villain types were few and far between. Fans have argued that it’s really only the likes of M.O.D.O.K., Taskmaster, Abomination, and A.I.M. who are legitimate comic book villains. Yet, players have already faced off against some comic-book foes.
Players might have missed that the Super-Adaptoid was a legitimate threat to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the comics. The Watchdogs have appeared numerous times and were even a part of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Monica Rappaccini is actually the Scientist Supreme in the comics, putting her on a global level with the likes of Doctor Strange of Shang-Chi in their respective fields.
3 Spider-Man Links
It was previously announced that everyone’s favorite web-slinger was to be making an appearance in the Avengers title. Yet, thus far there have been absolutely no signs of Spider-Man in the game… until a closer look is taken at the main campaign.
There are drawings of Spider-Man and some of his enemies hidden throughout the Avengers’ and S.H.I.E.L.D. facilities. What’s more, the designs for Taskmaster in both Marvel’s Avengers and Spider-Man PS4 are so close that a connection could certainly be made. Rcent design changes in the Web-Head’s game could be to bring it more in line with Square Enix’s Marvel universe.
2 Iron Man’s Proto Armor
Tony Stark might be good for a few one-liners but when fans first meet him in a post-A-Day world, he is a shell of his former self. Without Iron Man armor to dramatically launch into, he resorts to putting together spare parts to protect himself.
This original proto armor has some small details which could hint at the future. The way it’s put together is reminiscent of what Stark would have done in a cave. The silver elements are a nod to that and the potential debut of War Machine. What’s more, the police-style helmet is also a nod to characters like the Wizard and other such villains, who could appear as side foes in the game and create tech from abandoned objects.
1 Secret Invasion
The game has introduced a wide range of supporting characters very quickly, but not in major roles. Maria Hill, Dum Dum Dugan, and Hank Pym, amongst others, all work to support the player. Yet, sometimes their behavior is a little off.
Hank’s inability to shrink, for instance, is questionable, not to mention the mysterious missing Nick Fury, which Maria Hill is somehow so out of the loop on. With the Kree already in the game, it may be possible that these small details are pointing to a Skrull Invasion storyline similar to the comics. Of major note is Clint’s erratic personality thus far.
