Disney has released some really amazing feature-length films over the years, but along with those, they’ve also produced and released a number of really fun and interesting made-for-TV movies that have aired on the Disney Channel. Many people that grew up in the 1990s and 2000s likely remember excitedly watching the new Disney Channel Original Movies that would premiere and kids today still get to experience that with each new one that airs. With Disney+ being so popular now and having so many of the Disney Channel Original Movies that have been produced over the years, it can be tough to decide what one to watch.

From DCOMs that came out in the 90s or early 2000s to more recent ones that just aired on the network, there are a lot of really good Disney Channel Original Movies. Some of them are sequels to previous DCOMs, based on books, or even based on Disney Channel shows. And then, there are some that are completely fun and original stories. 10 Descendants 2 (6.5)

Descendants 2 is a sequel to the first Descendants movie. This DCOM was released in 2017 and has really helped this Disney Channel franchise to become hugely popular. The series follows a group of the children of infamous Disney villains.

This movie follows Mal as she travels back to the Isle of the Lost and meets Uma, Ursula’s daughter. Uma has taken over life as the queen of the Isle of the Lost and her followers will stop at nothing in their quest to take down the border. It’s up to Mal to stop them!

9 Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge (6.5)

Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge was released in 2001 and is a sequel to the classic Halloween-themed film. This movie, like the first one, stars Kimberly J. Brown as Marnie Piper, a young witch whose grandmother introduces her to her magical family history.

In this sequel, Kalabar is an angry warlock who stole a powerful spellbook. He plans to wait until midnight on Halloween to transform everyone in costume into the creature they’re dressed up as permanently. Marnie has to put her skills to the test in order to try to save the mortals from Kalabar’s evil plot!

8 The Wizards Return: Alex Vs. Alex (6.5)

The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex is a Disney Channel Original Movie based on Wizards of Waverly Place, a Disney Channel series that starred Selena Gomez as Alex Russo, a young slacker and wizard-in-training who is always getting into trouble through the use of her magical powers.

After Alex tries to create a spell that will get rid of all of her bad qualities, she accidentally creates an evil clone of herself known as Evil Alex and she becomes Good Alex. When Evil Alex teams up with a powerful wizard who wants to take over the world, it’s up to the whole Russo family to come together to stop her.

7 Cloud 9 (6.6)

Cloud 9 was released in 2014 and stars Disney Channel star Dove Cameron as Kayla, a spoiled and superficial snowboarder who was recently dropped from her team and has been forced to train with former snowboarding star Will Cloud.

Will is struggling after a viral video ruined his career as a snowboarder and is working with Kayla to try to revive his own career while helping her to grow her skills as a snowboarder. While Kayla is trying to prove to herself that she has what it takes to go pro, Will is trying to find the inspiration to move beyond his embarrassing past.

6 Tangled: Before Ever After (6.6)

Tangled: Before Ever After is a Disney Channel animated film set just after the events of the Disney movie, Tangled.

This DCOM is set shortly after the events of the film, after Rapunzel was reunited with her parents. It was released in 2017 and follows Rapunzel as she tries to deal with her newfound life back in the kingdom. She struggles with her life as a princess. And of course, in true Tangled fashion, her hair plays a huge part in this DCOM.

5 Descendants 3 (6.7)

Descendants 3 was released in 2019 and is the third movie in the series. This movie, like the others in the series, follows the lives of the children of some of Disney’s most infamous villains. The series stars Dove Cameron as Mal, the daughter of Maleficent.

In this third movie in the series, the children of these Disney villains travel back to the Isle of the Lost in order to recruit a new group of students to attend Auradon Prep. When an evil force looms over the school, these characters find themselves in grave danger.

4 Halloweentown (6.8)

Halloweentown was released in 1998 and is a classic Disney Channel Original Movie for the Halloween season. This movie follows Marnie after she goes to visit her grandma in a mysterious place called Halloweentown. There, Marnie learns that she comes from a long line of powerful witches.

Along with learning about her family history with magic, Marnie learns that she will get powers of her own when she becomes a teenager. Unfortunately, this becomes complicated when Marnie learns that her family is the target of an evil warlock.

3 Lemonade Mouth (6.9)

Lemonade Mouth is a DCOM that was released in 2011 and stars Bridgit Mendler and Hayley Kiyoko as two of a group of students that come together to form a music group. This movie is particularly fun for fans of pop music as it shows Hayley Kiyoko during her days as a Disney Channel star, before she blew up as a major musician.

This movie, like some other popular Disney Channel Original Movies, is a musical. The movie follows as the main characters form a music group in order to join in a music competition against a huge rock band and the songs featured throughout the movie are super catchy and fun to sing along to.

2 Kim Possible: So The Drama (7.1)

Kim Possible: So the Drama is an animated Disney Channel Original Movie that was released in 2005 and is based on the animated series by the same name. This is the second DCOM based around this character and was released two years before the TV series it’s based on came to an end.

In this movie, Kim is desperate to try to find a date to her junior prom, but is concerned that she might miss out on the chance of a lifetime because of the amount of time she spends with her best friend and sidekick, Ron Stoppable. Along with the normal high school drama, this movie features Kim’s normal amount of intense action and saving the day.

1 Phineas And Ferb The Movie: Across The 2nd Dimension (7.4)

Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension is an animated Disney Channel movie based on the TV series by the same name. A big part of the series involves Phineas and Ferb’s pet platypus, Perry, being a secret agent and in this movie, the boys learn their pet’s secret.

After discovering that Perry is secretly Agent P, they find themselves trapped in a bizarre alternate dimension where Doofenschmirtz’s plans have actually worked out and he rules the tri-state area like he’s always dreamed.
