2020’s Genshin Impact, a great video game for anime fans, offers a vast open-world map full of uniquely detailed locations. With a new update coming soon full of new characters, it is a great chance to look back into all the multiple hidden locations included in the game that are often left untouched.

It is important to focus not only on the story but on exploration as well since the game is full of hidden caves, entrances, and puzzles that if explored provide some pretty good rewards and fun interactions.

10 Whirlpool Cave

Just west of Minacious Isle there’s a small island with a whirlpool right beside it. If the player stands on the whirlpool, they get teleported to a different island with a short puzzle.

The player has to destroy the breakable rock in the room, set the time to 1:00 AM, and then stand on the switch to raise the water level. When the water level reaches its maximum height, before climbing on the vines, there will be a hidden chest on one side of the room.

9 Climb The Cathedral

Many players skip climbing the cathedral as it seems like a big waste of time. Nevertheless, aside from the great view that players can get from up there, there is also a luxurious chest at the very top.

With the cathedral being one of the most-visited locations in the game, it’s surprising how many players have missed this chest on the top.

8 Easily Complete Mining Quests

Some daily quests require the player to mine 10 ores, and while this can be boring to do, there is an easy work-around.

Specifically, the player can complete this quest simply by collecting ore rewards from exhibitions, or if that’s not available, they can always just buy the ores which also counts towards the quest progress.

7 Traveling Merchant

The traveling merchant is an NPC that can be seen walking around on the road right above Windsire and sells some materials. The merchant can be easy to miss since he might stray a bit off the main path, and thus be harder to spot.

Nevertheless, the materials sold are worth it as they can be hard to gather and will be needed later on for most character upgrades. Stocking up on these early on is considered a solid strategy for Genshin Impact.

6 Ring Parkour

In the city of Mondstadt, there is a dim light on top of a wall that if touched starts a small parkour. The player has to walk through the rings (there doesn’t appear to be any time limits on this) and reach the end in order to reveal a free luxurious chest.

All it takes is some solid balance skills, and since there is no time limit, this is one of the easiest parkours available.

5 Branch In Dunyu Ruins

In one of the simplest, yet very hidden puzzles in Genshin Impact located in Dunyu Ruins, if the player manages to stand on one specific dead branch, a chest will appear right next to them.

Although it is exceptionally simple, many players fail to notice this since there are way too many objects in Genshin Impact, and trying to jump on top of everyone would take a very long time.

4 Hidden Achievements

The game offers multiple hidden achievements that cannot be tracked in-game unless completed. Due to that, many players fail to notice them at all, as they can get tricky to complete.

For instance, one achievement includes finishing any trial with 4 characters of the same element in the player’s party, while another requires the player to glide continuously for at least 80 seconds.

3 Chi Of Guyun World Quest

The Chi of Guyun is a world quest split into three parts with each rewarding the player with a puzzle piece. Each includes killing some enemies and solving a puzzle on three different locations easily distinguished by the multiple orange crystals that are there.

After the player has gathered all three fragments, they can visit Qingce Village and talk to Granny Ruoxin to unlock a special dialogue and combine these three pieces.

2 Secret Cave

On the northwest side of Qingce Village, there is a small pond with a waterfall that has a cave entrance on its right side covered in vines. If the player has completed the Chi Of Guyun Quest, they can access the inner part of this cave which includes a quest for fighting enemies, and at the back, multiple chests are scattered around.

If the player is equipped with some of the best weapons in the game, the fight will be a breeze, and they can move on to collect all the chests at the back.

1 Heart Island

East of Yaoguang Shoal there’s a small island in the middle of the ocean that includes a unique puzzle built around Genshin Impact’s co-op aspect, which is one of the reasons why the game blew up.

It has a heart carved on the beach out of stones and if two players stand on each side, a chest will spawn in the middle for the host to grab. Although the chest can only be grabbed by the host, quickly swapping to the other player’s world to let them have the chest solves the problem.
