One of the most famous alternate universes in DC history: Injustice. A world where after Joker drugged Superman into killing his pregnant wife Lois, he becomes a maniacal dictator with bloodlust. The two Injustice games are beloved gems by not only fighting game fans but DC fans alike.

They are as cinematic and immersive as the Arkham games, if not more. As a result, Injustice games boast a star-studded cast much like their sister Mortal Kombat games. Some are iconic voices everyone can recognize like Kevin Conroy, Tara Strong, and Grey Griffin but others are more surprising.

11 Mark Rolston

Most might recognize Mark Rolston as Vasquez’s good friend Drake in Ridley Scott’s Aliens. He has been in other films and TV shows including Rush Hour, The Shawshank Redemption, and The Departed. In Injustice: Gods Among Us, Rolston played a more heroic version of Lex Luthor who aids Batman’s resistance.

This is not Rolston’s only time as a DC character as he is also the respective Deathstroke of the Arkhamverse. Mark Rolston has also joined Marvel’s gaming world by portraying Norman Osborn in Insomniac’s Spider-Man games.

10 Adam Baldwin

Fans of Firefly will be quick to recognize Adam Baldwin as Jayne Cobb of that show and the movie Serenity. Baldwin is no stranger to voice acting: Mass Effect, Halo, Half-Life 2, and other DC titles. He’s played Superman multiple times but in Injustice: Gods Among Us, he played Hal Jordan AKA Green Lantern.

A funny casting since his Firefly co-star Nathan Fillion – who is now starring in The Suicide Squad – is one of the most beloved Green Lantern voice actors. Adam Baldwin was also Hal Jordan in the DC Animated Universe in a quick cameo.

9 Vanessa Marshall

Absent from Injustice: Gods Among Us, Black Canary was one of the strongest female characters of the tie-in comics. So, Black Canary would make her video game debut in Injustice 2 played by Vanessa Marshall. A role Vanessa Marshall first started voicing on DC’s Young Justice.

Vanessa Marshall is a famous voice actor who has played a plethora of characters over the years. She was Hera Syndulla on Star Wars: Rebels, Wonder Woman in multiple DC projects, and Kerrigan from the StarCraft world.

8 C. Thomas Howell

Captain Cold entered the games in Injustice 2 as a member of The Society. He was voiced by C. Thomas Howell of Red Dawn, E.T. The Extraterrestrial, The Hitcher, and Southland fame. He is also no stranger to DC roles nor The Flash mythology.

In multiple animated projects including Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, Howell was the voice of Eobard Thawne AKA Reverse-Flash. He fits into the Captain Cold role rather well with the same kind of icy tone of voice he provided for Thawne.

7 Steve Blum

Steve Blum’s voice is most recognized by Marvel fans as the definitive voice for Wolverine for over twenty years. Blum is one of the most decorated voice actors with hundreds of credited characters from movies, games, TV shows, etc. If one has watched or played anything with some kind of voice acting, they have likely heard Blum somewhere in there.

In Injustice 2, Steve Blum took over from Adam Baldwin as the voice of Hal Jordan. Also in Injustice 2, he provided the voice for Sub-Zero as a DLC character. Steve Blum began voicing Sub-Zero in Mortal Kombat X and still voices him in Mortal Kombat 11.

6 Neal McDonough

For those unaware, Neal McDonough has become a king of comic book-related media. Marvel or DC, hero or villain, it doesn’t seem to matter to him. On the Marvel side, he was the voice of Bruce Banner in animation and games. Meanwhile, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he played Dum Dum Dugan.

For DC, he was Green Arrow in an animated short, Damien Dahrk in the CW’s Arrowverse, and for Injustice: Gods Among Us, he was the voice of Barry Allen AKA The Flash. Briefly, McDonough also provided the voice of Damian Wayne.

5 Jeffrey Combs

In the horror community, Jeffrey Combs is an icon for films like From Beyond and Re-Animator. His wild yet undeniably entertaining form of acting has made him a cult star. He has joined DC before as the voice of the much-improved Scarecrow on The New Batman Adventures.

Many were surprised with how Jeffrey Combs became the main villain of Injustice 2 as Brainiac. At first, it’s hard to hear Combs since he plays Brainiac so effectively that he seems to have been born for it. The soullessness and piousness of Brainiac are perfect allowing Combs to steal the show whenever he appears.

4 Khary Payton

Yet another DC alumni to join both Injustice games. Khary Payton has been voicing Aqualad on Young Justice since the first season but his most famous DC contribution is that of Cyborg. That all started with the Teen Titans animated series and he continues the character in the Injustice games. Albeit, the Injustice Cyborg is a much darker and villainous version.

Khary Payton did gain fame in live-action for his time on General Hospital as well. However, most are bound to recognize his face as Ezekial on AMC’s The Walking Dead.

3 Phil LaMarr

Before Jason Momoa, Phil LaMarr was the previous actor to show that Aquaman is awesome. He portrays the character as proud and regal as possible, sounding like a king straight out of Middle-Earth. That carries over into both Injustice games as a darker and neutral Aquaman.

Also, LaMarr provides the voice of John Stewart’s Green Lantern in both Injustice games as he did for the DC Animated Universe. Phil LaMarr has made plenty of live-action appearances such as Marvin in Pulp Fiction, a brief guest appearance on Lucifer, multiple seasons of MADtv, and more.

2 Robert Englund

That’s right, Freddy Krueger himself was in the Injustice universe. He debuted in Injustice 2 with the most fitting character of them all: Scarecrow. A character who thrives off instilling fear in people before killing them. There are even some Freddy Krueger references via his dialogue and customization.

What’s great about his Scarecrow is that he could have easily just rehashed his Freddy performance given Scarecrow’s monstrous design. Instead, he gives a creepy and soft-spoken voice conveying a genuinely chilling and unique Scarecrow portrayal that was sadly underused in the story.

1 Alan Tudyk

Wash from Firefly, Sonny from I, Robot, K-2S0 from Rogue One, and currently Harry Vanderspeigle on Resident Alien. Alan Tudyk has become of the most underused talented actors in recent years. He could be the lead in so many giant movies but is often sidelined.

This is best shown in his voice acting which includes the aforementioned K-2SO and several DC characters; Superman, The Joker, and easily his best: Green Arrow. In many DC games and animation, Alan Tudyk acts as the go-to voice for Green Arrow due to his perfect comedic timing and clear love for the character. His chemistry with Vanessa Marshall’s Black Canary makes for some of the best dialogue in Injustice 2.
