13 new additions to Xbox Game Pass have been announced by Microsoft, with the host of titles joining the subscription service throughout September 2021. Xbox Game Pass regularly expands its library of games which PC and Xbox players can access for a monthly or annual subscription fee. With hundreds of games available through the service, including day one Xbox releases as well as classic titles, Game Pass is widely considered to be one of the best value-for-money purchases for gamers.
Xbox Game Pass has introduced plenty of new additions to the service throughout 2021 alone. Day one releases such as the controversial top-down mystery Twelve Minutes and the highly-anticipated Psychonauts 2 made a splash on the service earlier this summer, while upcoming heavy-hitters such as Playground Games’ Forza Horizon 5 and even Bethesda’s RPG Starfield are also confirmed to be available from launch through Xbox Game Pass. Earlier this month, Final Fantasy 13 and Surgeon Simulator 2 both came to Game Pass for console and PC.
The new batch of Xbox Game Pass releases for September have been announced by Xbox, confirming 13 games will be joining the service in the coming weeks and days. Some of the biggest games on the list include survival sequel Subnautica: Below Zero, skateboarding bird game SkateBird, time-bending FPS Lemnis Gate, and JRPG Astria Ascending. As always, the new additions mean some games will be leaving Xbox Game Pass. From September 30, fans will no longer have access to Drake Hollow, Ikenfell, Night in the Woods, Kathy Rain, and Warhammer Vermintide II. The full list of new Xbox Game Pass games – and the dates they’ll be available from – is as follows:
Flynn: Son of Crimson (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 15
I Am Fish (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 16
SkateBird (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 16
Superliminal (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 16
Aragami 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 17
Lost Words: Beyond the Page (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 23
Sable (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 23
Subnautica: Below Zero (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 23
Tainted Grail: Conquest (PC) – September 23
Lemnis Gate (Console and PC) – September 28
Astria Ascending (Cloud, Console, and PC) – September 30
Unsighted (Console and PC) – September 30
Phoenix Point (Console) – October 1

Eight of the next 13 Xbox Game Pass games are coming to the service on the day of their release, so those looking to keep on top of all the latest new games will want to check out action-platformer Flynn: Son of Crimson, physics adventure I Am Fish, SkateBird, stealth action-adventure Aragami 2, puzzle and exploration game Sable, Lemnis Gate, Astria Ascending, and pixel RPG Unsighted. As for non-day one releases, Phoenix Point should appeal to turn-based strategy fans, while roguelike-RPG hybrid Tainted Grail: Conquest shouldn’t be missed by PC gamers. Subnautica: Below Zero, the sequel to the 2014 hit, is one of September’s most unmissable games, but narrative adventure Lost Words: Beyond the Page is also worth exploring. Finally, first-person puzzler Superliminal should provide a challenge with its optical illusions and thought-provoking puzzles.
September is looking like a great month for Xbox Game Pass fans, but players can expect even more in the coming months and weeks. Xbox’s regular switch-ups to the Game Pass service mean there’s always something new on the horizon, whether it be a new indie gem or one of the biggest AAA games of the year. Halo fans will be delighted to learn that not only is Halo Infinite coming to Xbox Game Pass, but it’s also available for pre-download right now ahead of its December 8 release date.
