The same actor who played Lee Gon in The King: Eternal Monarch happens to have also played a major jerk in Boys Over Flowers. In-ho warns her that Yoo Jung isn’t who he appears to be. The K-drama had fans at odd ends hoping that he’d get the girl and outshine his rival. For some, he was clearly the better choice when it came to a boyfriend.

Yoo Jung wasn’t a favorable character in Cheese in the Trap for a reason. Fans didn’t like his superiority complex and how he treated the female lead. Hence why so many fans pitied the second-lead syndrome given to Baek In-ho. While the character is intelligent and handsome, he has a dark side.

He wears a mask as being kind but in reality, is quite manipulative and seeks to tear down others. In the show, the female lead is wary of his intentions when he’s suddenly nice towards her despite his previous cold shoulder. Throughout the show, audiences see how he has slyly manipulated her life like pushing a student to stalk her. While he may make fans’ hearts flutter at times, is he really sincere?

But when becoming enraged, his other personality takes over.

Seo-jin is known for being cold, manipulative and a ruthless boss and overall person. He doesn’t treat the female lead any differently and often brushed her aside. But his other personality is dateable. Robin the exact opposite. He’s kind, actually smiles, and has a savior complex.

Start-Up a new K-drama on Netflix that has gained popularity. This is another example of fans unsure of which male lead to root for. But Nam Do-san (Nam Joo-hyuk) wins more brownie points for being the most dateable. He was once the pride of his family but after being unsuccessful in his investment ventures, he becomes shy and reserved.

Fans fell for his sweet persona and overall cuteness. He’s a character that really goes after the girl and even starts a start-up to turn her into his possible love. While Do-san originally lies to the female lead, it’s clear that he has a good heart and regrets never telling her the truth. In the end, he’s a softy who just wanted to be everything his love interest needed. He also knits for fun.

1 Undateable: Choi Young-do (The Heirs)

Choi Young-do (Kim Woo-bin) is the second male lead in the highly acclaimed show, The Heirs or also knows as The Inheritors. While his bad-boy ways may have been alluring, he’s not dating material. In the show, he’s referred to as the antagonist who develops a crush on the female lead.

But he goes about trying to show it in the worst way possible. He’s highly volatile towards others and bullies other students. At first, he starts to harass the female lead to get back as his ex-best friend. Even when a romantic moment occurs, he still drops her into a pool and calls it an “accident.”
