Here’s every magical creature from the Harry Potter movies that appear in the Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure Ride ride at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park at Universal Orlando. And if you think it’s only going to be things you’ve seen before, you’re in for a surprise.

Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure Ride is about to do something no other theme park has done before: it’s the world’s first “story coaster.” Not only will riders get to walk through the Hogwarts’ groundskeeper’s world, including his hut and his nursery which contains all manner of magical creatures and items, but they’ll also get to ride on a rollercoaster designed to look like Hagrid’s famous flying motorbike from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films.

The magical creatures are one of the most beloved aspects of J.K. Rowling’s incredibly dense Wizarding World, with a plethora of animals pulled from all manner of mythology given a Harry Potter spin across the seven books. They’re so fundamental to the franchise that there’s a whole prequel series, Fantastic Beasts, following magizoologist Newt Scamander (although the recent The Crimes of Grindelwald mostly side-stepped the Niffler and co.).

Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure Ride plays right into that, taking you through Hagrid’s hut and onto enchanted motorbikes to see his Care of Magical Creatures class and some more dangerous specimens. Here’s every creature you’re going to see on the Harry Potter ride.

Fluffy, The Three-Headed Dog

Fluffy, the paradoxically-named three-headed dog inspired by the myths of Cerberus, was used by Hagrid to protect the Sorcerer’s Stone in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Once the immortality-giving rock was destroyed, Dumbledore released him to Greece.

Obviously, Fluffy appears in the Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure ride, looking just like he did in the film. Each of Fluffy’s heads has been given its own personality but none of them look pleased about the rollercoaster riders going by them. Better be careful.

Centaur

Centaurs played a pivotal role twice in the Harry Potter books and films. First appearing in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone during Harry, Ron, Hermione and Draco’s detention in the Forbidden Forest, and later returning in The Order of the Phoenix to take away Dolores Umbridge, as well as participating in the Battle of Hogwarts, these mythical half-human, half-horse creatures were turned into warriors who do not appreciate their forest being invaded by outsiders.

In Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure, there’s a centaur lurking in the forest still, ready for any more invasion.

Cornish Pixie

Cornish pixies were one of the more mischievous creatures in the Wizard World, introduced in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by Professor Lockhart during a particularly haphazard lesson of Defence Against the Dark Arts. They were briefly returned to in The Deathly Hallows – Part 2, seen in the Room of Requirement.

In Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure, they can be seen having taken control of the enchanted Ford Anglia, which is clearly still roaming the Hogwarts’ grounds years later.

Blast-Ended Skrewt

Blast-Ended Skrewts are curious creatures who can do plenty of harm if given the opportunity. A Manticore-scorpion hybrid developed by Hagrid, the Blast-Ended Skrewt is one of the Hogwarts groundskeeper’s prized possessions. They were introduced in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and used as part of the final task of the Triwizard Tournament.

However, they didn’t appear in the Harry Potter movies, making Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure their live-action (so to speak) debut. A lot of effort has, naturally, been put into translating the creature for the ride, with fire that “ignites” from its “blasting-end” and a “powerful and signature odor”. They measure eight feet long (ten feet with tail) and weigh over 6000 pounds.

Dragon Eggs

Dragons are a classic magical creature and had roles across the Harry Potter series. Hagrid had Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry faced a Hungarian Horntail as part of the Triwizard Tournament in The Goblet of Fire, and the gang used a Ukrainian Ironbelly to escape Gringotts in The Deathly Hallows.

While Hagrid had to give up Norbert (or, rather, Norberta), he now has several dragon eggs in storage that are on the brink of hatching. You’ll have to ride Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure to see what species they contain.

Manticore

A Manticore has never been properly seen in the Wizarding World, either in the Harry Potter books or movies, only getting glancing mentions and a page in the Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them book. These creatures are actually from Greek and Persian myths and they have the head of a man, the body of a lion, and the tail of a scorpion.

Sadly, you won’t see a Manticore in the flesh on Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure either, but if you keep your eyes peeled, you may notice a book turned to the page showing one in illustration.

Grindylows & Selkies

The Black Lake at Hogwarts is one of the most mysterious parts of the castle and its grounds. It was finally explored in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as part of the Triwizard Tournament. In its depths, Harry encountered both Grindylows and Selkies: little water demons with pale green skin and very sharp teeth, and vicious Sirens respectively.

While Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure doesn’t reach the Black Lake, both Grindylows and Selkies appear on the ride via an aged sculpture. Given how difficult Harry found them both, it’s probably for the best they’re only in marble.
