TNT’s Animal Kingdom has become a hit show about crime, family, and drama. As fans patiently await another season, there’s definitely enough wild and intriguing things to have already happened on the series – and one of those things is definitely romances and relationships.

With deaths, action, and robberies, romance can take a backseat, but it’s still another aspect of this show that has all fans on the edge of their seats. Of course, like every good show, fans aren’t behind every single romance to happen.

10 Rooting For: Baz & Lucy

There is a lot of back-and-forth when it comes to Animal Kingdom, and that definitely proves true for its many romances. Baz doesn’t exactly last long in the series, but the impact he leaves on the family and others certainly does.

Baz had both Catherine and Lucy, two women in two different countries. While Catherine was sweet and mature, Lucy was way more perfect for Baz. They did their jobs together – and it was so obvious that their love was pure.

9 Couldn’t Stand: Baz & Catherine

When it came to Baz and Catherine, every fan definitely had their share of anger and pity. With nothing against Catherine, this relationship was everything to hate about Baz.

Whether he was cheating on her, lying to her, or being an absent father, all fans could do when it came to this romance was feel bad for Catherine. Plus, she kind of gave her life for it. Catherine deserved better.

8 Rooting For: Craig & Frankie

Craig is the king of flings when it comes to the characters from Animal Kingdom. He certainly has the most romances, and this one was certainly the favorite for all fans. Frankie kept Craig on his toes, and she brought out he mature and intelligent sides of him.

She’s the only one that had a good head on her shoulders, and was still super funny and smart. While she’s a bit mysterious, she always came through, and these two were a power couple.

7 Couldn’t Stand: J & Nicky

Before things got really sticky on Animal Kingdom, there was J and Nicky. Nicky wanted to be a cool criminal, and J wanted her to have nothing to do with his crazy family and their illegal activity.

Everything about Nicky was worthy of eye-rolling, and every time these two were in a scene together was nothing short of annoying and frustrating. They were never good for each other.

6 Rooting For: Pope & Angela

Fans were probably super disappointed when Pope finally had a positive relationship, with Amy, and it turned out that he couldn’t convince her to stay after all the terrible things he had done.

However, he found solace in Angela, who knows his past and his present. While she isn’t perfect, she still somehow brings out the best in Pope, and gives him a reason to stay strong. They’re broken and wonderful – together.

5 Couldn’t Stand: Craig & Nicky

If fans couldn’t stand J and Nicky, they most certainly couldn’t stand Craig and Nicky. When this fling first started, viewers of this show probably couldn’t hate Craig or Nicky more.

This was the worst of both of their Animal Kingdom characters, and together, they were nothing but uncomfortable and frustrating. They reached their worst together, and it was a relief when it ended.

4 Rooting For: Janine & Colin

There isn’t much to say when it comes to fans rooting for Janine (or Smurf). However, anyone with a heart was definitely losing it when Janine lost her one true love, and her baby daddy, during a job.

If Colin hadn’t died, things might have been very different for Janine Cody and their family. Out of all the guys Janine had to deal with, Colin was the nicest, and their love was kind of adorable.

3 Couldn’t Stand: Craig & Renn

Fans can support Craig and Frankie, but it’s hard to have any care for any of the other women he was with. Renn might be his baby’s mom, and they’re kind of adorable when they both mature in the later seasons.

However, their initial relationship was nothing but toxic and annoying. From Craig stealing from an overdosed Renn to Renn being an unstable girlfriend, there was nothing to love about these two.

2 Rooting For: Deran & Adrian

There have been a lot of deaths in Animal Kingdom, but Adrian’s departure might have been sadder than all of them combined. Deran had reason to be hated in the first couple of seasons, but he became such a dynamic and lovable character.

He brought out the best in Adrian, and Adrian certainly brought out the best in him. These two parting ways because of a bad job was heartbreaking – and fans are definitely still rooting for a comeback.

1 Couldn’t Stand: J & Mia

Fans may have absolutely hated Nicky and J, but it’s probably safe to say that every viewer was missing her terribly when Mia came into the picture. She made Nicky look like the best girlfriend in the world.

She cheated, lied, stole, and manipulated, and she might have been one of the biggest villains the show had to offer. While every death and murder is cringy, fans definitely felt a bit of relief when J finally pulled the trigger.
