Apple Rolls Out New Watch Faces To Celebrate 15 Years Of Product Red

Apple Watch owners can help celebrate a milestone for Apple’s Product Red by downloading the new watch faces. Today is World AIDS Day, and Apple is commemorating the event in various ways, including donating when customers use Apple Pay and featuring related content across its various online and physical stores. In addition, a portion of each Product Red purchase is donated, making a significant contribution to the efforts to eradicate AIDS.

Apple first started working with the (RED) in 2006, introducing an iPod Touch in a deep red color and beginning a long tradition of supporting this charitable cause. A portion of product sales is donated to the Global Fund to support various programs designed to fight the spread of AIDS. More recently, the program has been expanded to help with COVID-19 programs as well.

As part of Apple’s announcement of 15 years partnering with (RED) in the fight against AIDS, Apple Watch owners can show their support by downloading new watch faces prominently featuring the red color. Beyond acknowledging the global effort to eradicate AIDS and COVID-19, the watch faces are attractive and eye-catching. Additionally, a portion of every Product Red purchase is donated to the Global Fund. Apple doesn’t disclose what percentage is given, but nearly $270 million has been donated in 15 years, making Apple the most prominent corporate contributor.

Which Apple Purchases Help (RED)

Apple has several iPhone models available in the Product Red color, including the iPhone 11, 12, and 13 and the iPhone SE. A new iPhone SE is rumored to be coming soon, so it might be better to donate to charity directly and buy the 2022 iPhone SE when it arrives if this product is of interest. In addition, the Apple Watch Series 7, the iPod Touch, Beats Solo 3 Wireless Headphones and Beats Pill-Plus Portable Speaker are also available in Product Red styling, along with iPhone cases and Watch bands to complete the look.

Apple also announced that from Dec. 1 through Dec. 6, 2021, the company is donating $1 to the Global Fund for every purchase made with Apple Pay on apple.com, via the Apple Store app, or when placing an order at a physical Apple Store. Apple Pay can be used online with a Mac, MacBook, or iPad. Of course, an iPhone or AppleWatch makes it easy to purchase with Apple Pay at a retail Apple Store with a double-click of the side button and a pass by the payment terminal. With an Apple Pay purchase and the new Apple Watch faces, it’s easy to participate and contribute on World AIDS Day.
