The relationship between Batman and Robin is one of the most famous dynamics in the Dark Knight’s lore, and one fan recently uncovered a subtle difference between the two in Batman: Arkham Knight that highlights their roles as student and teacher. While not a well-received as the previous two titles in Rocksteady’s excellent Batman: Arkham series, 2015’s Arkham Knight was widely praised for digging deep into the mindset of Bruce Wayne and his connections to both Gotham City and his various protégées, as well as the mental toll Batman’s eternal mission takes on him.

While Robin was completely absent from 2009’s surprise hit Batman: Arkham Asylum, Tim Drake’s iteration of the iconic Boy Wonder had a small cameo in 2011 follow up Batman: Arkham City – where he also featured as a playable character in the game’s Riddler Challenge Rooms. From there, Robin would gain an expanded role in the Harley Quinn’s Revenge DLC and Batman: Arkham Knight, the latter of which featured segments where players alternating control of Batman and his ward/sidekick as they worked to contain those infected with the deceased Joker’s Titan-infused blood.
