Warning: This article contains spoilers for The Flash season 8, episode 4.

The fourth installment in The Flash’s Armageddon crossover hinted at two new additions to Team Flash in the episodes to come. The team of heroes and scientists that currently work with Barry (Grant Gustin) at S.T.A.R. Labs hasn’t changed much since Cisco (Carlos Valdez) left in the midst of season 7. However, some big adjustments to the roster could be on the horizon.

With Cisco and Elongated Man (Hartley Sawyer) gone, Barry has had to make do with less support in the field. For this reason, his most reliable partner in combat now is Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker), with Brandon McKnight’s Chester P. Runk and Caitlin (as usual) providing their scientific expertise remotely. And when needed, he’s been able to count on the metahuman abilities of Allegra (Kayla Compton) and Cecile (Danielle Nicolet). So far, the number of allies he has in the Arrowverse has proven adequate, but since things are always changing in the Arrowverse, it may not be long before Team Flash gets revamped again.

The Flash season 8’s “Armageddon, Part 4” may have given viewers a sneak peek at two recruits that Team Flash will pick up at a later date. During Barry’s trip to 2031, it was discovered that Ryan Choi (Osric Chau) from “Crisis on Infinite Earths” and Chillblaine (Jon Cor) were on the team. Of course, this was all a part of Eobard Thawne’s Reverse-Flashpoint timeline, but it’s possible that these specific events weren’t directly caused by Thawne’s actions. Most of the characters present, like Chuck and Allegra, were members of Team Flash long before Thawne interfered with the timestream. It may be that in the proper Arrowverse timeline, Ryan and Chillblaine are supposed to join forces with Barry and the others at some point before 2031.

Events that may take place later on in The Flash season 8 may bring Ryan and Chillblaine onboard Team Flash. Despite his criminal past, Chillblaine demonstrated the potential to be a capable member of the team when he helped them fight the Godspeed clones in season 7. When taking that into consideration, it won’t come as a huge surprise if he eventually gets an invitation to join the team. Since he’s not exactly a hero, it may take significant effort to gain their trust. But if he does earn a spot on the roster, that would make it easier for the show to continue his romantic subplot with Frost.

The Flash finding something to do with Ryan isn’t outside the realm of possibility either, especially since there must have been a reason why the Arrowverse introduced him in “Crisis on Infinite Earths”. In DC Comics, Ryan succeeds Ray Palmer as the Atom, but has yet to embark down this path in the Arrowverse. He also doesn’t even have a home on any of the Arrowverse shows yet, which could change in The Flash season 8. If he somehow gets his hands on some of Ray’s tech, he could evolve into his comic counterpart and join Team Flash on a long-term basis. If so, Barry could end up with two new super-powered allies in the near future.
