DCEU 10 Best Licensed Statues

The DC Extended Universe has reveled in a fantastic production design that has produced a great deal of merchandise, including some stunning statues fans can own to display their appreciation. The titan of these creations is most often Prime 1 Studio, which specializes in large half-scale replicas of characters from fiction, including video games, comics, and movies.

Tragically, some of these masterful works of sculpting perfection are no longer available for purchase, but they can still be observed in photos and video footage to see what they were. Some of these statues have yet to release, but the craftsmanship at work makes for incredibly enticing work, surely building a lot of pre-orders.

Wonder Woman in Golden Eagle Armor (Wonder Woman 1984) by Queen Studios

DCEU 10 Best Licensed Statues

The most striking thing to emerge from Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 1984 (2020) was a shining new suit of golden armor for the legendary Amazonian warrior princess, who clads herself in this shimmering uniform for the movie’s final act in which she does battle with Cheetah. Courtesy of Queen Studios, it is now a statue.

Like in the film, this 53.5cm figure comes with a pair of brilliant wings as Diana strikes an angelic pose. It also perfectly captures Gal Gadot’s facial features, showing remarkable attention to detail for its size, along with the small intricacies of the underlayer of the armor.

Superman Statue (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) by Beast Kingdom

DCEU 10 Best Licensed Statues

The 2016 superhero crossover also showed how Metropolis had immortalized Superman with a statue at ground zero of the devastating attack by General Zod. The monument was destroyed in the film, but Beast Kingdom made the statue into a physical thing. Standing at 40cm, this miniature monument accurately reproduces the Man of Steel’s statue… as a statue.

In this dramatic kneeling pose, extending his hand gracefully towards humanity, fans of the film can expect to find this the ultimate addition to their collection. Not too big, not too small, it is just the right size for an ornament on a large desk, for example. The statue is releasing soon but is currently available for pre-order.

Shazam (Shazam) by Prime 1 Studio

DCEU 10 Best Licensed Statues

Billy Batson in superhero form has been lovingly transformed into this 31-inch-tall statue, flawlessly recreating every detail of Shazam’s campy yet intricately layered costume. Actor Zachary Levi’s face has been sculpted pretty well, though it even comes with a “bubble gum” attachment to give the statue a more playful quality.

As usual with Prime 1, there is painstaking attention to ruthless detail. Fists on his hips to complete the authoritative Superman-esque pose, the highlight of the piece is clearly the LED illuminated chest piece, glowing yellow like it does in the film to complete the exquisite look.

Aquaman (Aquaman) by Queen Studios

DCEU 10 Best Licensed Statues

James Wan’s Aquaman (2018) delivered the titular oceanic superhero’s classic comic book outfit to the big screen in stunning accuracy with its distinctive orange-gold scale mail and green pants, and Queen Studios made the iconic king of Atlantis into this remarkable statue to be owned in the homes of fans.

The thing stands at a towering 1:2 scale, allowing for a tremendous level of detail and providing an uncanny recreation of Jason Momoa’s face with carefully planted hairs to complete the look. DCEU costume designer Kym Barret can be proud of this.

Wonder Woman (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) by Prime 1 Studio

DCEU 10 Best Licensed Statues

Diana Prince made her cinematic debut in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), clad in now-iconic Greek-style ancient armor oozing with history and culture, and Prime 1 created this gargantuan 1:2 scale statue to commemorate the character in the homes of driven fans.

Wonder Woman’s ancient armor is accurately recreated down to the detail scratches on the aged material and rugged leather, showing a level of craftsmanship only seen on the actual costumes used in the films. The inspirational look of Zack Snyder’s Wonder Woman has been commemorated beautifully here.

Superman (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice) by Prime 1 Studio

DCEU 10 Best Licensed Statues

At a whopping 1:2 scale, this statue of the Man of Steel authentically recreates not only the visage of the actor, but the slightly transparent fabric of his costume, allowing the shiny chrome muscle suit underneath to highlight the character’s musculature like a figure straight out of comic books, a distinguishing feature of Henry Cavill’s Superman.

Reviews of the statue show a few deviations from the promotional photos, namely a streak of gold through the cuffs, but the thing is otherwise exactly as depicted and a beautifully accurate recreation of the Man of Tomorrow as he appears on the big screen.

Steppenwolf (Zack Snyder’s Justice League) by Prime 1 Studio

DCEU 10 Best Licensed Statues

The lead villain of the Justice League’s first outing on film was redesigned for Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021) with a far more original and creative appearance. Ever the giants of authentic statue creation, it was Prime 1 who undertook the immense task of creating this mammoth 40-inch figure of the surreal supervillain.

The statue accurately recreates Steppenwolf’s razor-sharp silver armor and was promoted with this stunning trailer displaying the figure’s gorgeous attention to detail. It comes with interchangeable attachments for the right arm including a clenched fist, Mother Box, and mind probe in his open palm.

Darkseid (Zack Snyder’s Justice League) by Weta Workshop

DCEU 10 Best Licensed Statues

The Lord of Apokolips made his cinematic debut in the Snyder Cut. VFX Supervisor John “DJ” DesJardin said this was an opportunity to “set the cinematic world right again,” so it makes sense that Weta, the VFX company who brought the character to life, was proud enough of their work to bring this 1:4 scale statue to life.

Expected to deliver in February 2022, this statue shows the supreme supervillain posing like Conan the Barbarian upon a gigantic throne base. Weta even created a behind-the-scenes video showing the creation of this exquisite sculpture. To top it off, they also created statues for ZSJL’s Desaad, Joker, and black-suited Superman.

Batmobile (Batman v Superman) by Prime 1 Studio

DCEU 10 Best Licensed Statues

One of the most recognizable creations to come out of Batman v Superman is not even a character, but the Dark Knight’s battle-ready Batmobile. Prime 1 called this the “apex predator on the mean streets of Gotham City” in their stunningly accurate recreation of Batman’s beastly ride, and they do it justice.

The thing borders on more of a toy than a statue, with a remote control to turn on the LED lights, and canopy doors that can be opened to complete the parked look. Every bolt, every scratch, every cockpit detail, all of it has been painstakingly recreated by Prime 1 for this masterful reflection of the real vehicle built for the movie.

Lifesize Superman Bust (Justice League) by Infinity Studio

No Superman moment is more iconic than when he rips off his shirt dramatically to reveal his shining red and blue suit beneath. Henry Cavill got his chance, and he is accurately scaled to reflect the real superhero on the big screen in this incredible bust created by Infinity Studio, suspended in the legendary posture.

The upper half of the Man of Steel is built into a Kryptonian-styled base as he looks skyward with determination, and the cloth of his outerwear is very much real. Not only is Cavill’s face accurate, but the Superman suit itself is superbly detailed with the chain mail texture and highlighted musculature seen in the films.
