Every Season Of Below Deck Mediterranean Ranked From Worst To Best

There has been a mix of good and bad Below Deck Med seasons over the years, and we’re about to rank the seasons from the least inspiring to the most exciting. The show began in 2016, following the success of its predecessor, Below Deck. The spin-off follows the personal and professional lives of yachties who work in the Mediterranean region. Since the spinoff launched, fans have seen boatmances, fights involving Captain Sandy Yawn, and several crew member firings.

After the success of the Bravo reality series, there was another Below Deck spin-off, Below Deck Sailing Yacht. Also, more spin-offs are in the works, including Below Deck: Down Under. Last season, Below Deck Med made quite the impression on the audience. In fact, it was Bravo’s highest-rated 2020 series. Long-time chief stew Hannah Ferrier was fired after bosun Malia White snitched on her, causing a polarizing debate amongst viewers. Fans have responded differently to the various seasons, which are ranked from the worst to the best below:

Season One

At number five, we have the worst season, which is season one. While the first season was a great start to the Below Deck Med series, it did not have the same no-holds-barred drama as the other seasons. Even though this season did include the firing of deckhand Danny Zureikat, who would often get too friendly with guests and forget about his deckhand duties, it wasn’t very memorable. Nonetheless, the season isn’t talked about much today. This is why it gets the lowest ranking.

Season Three

The third season was quite interesting and it ranks at number four. Below Deck Med season 3 included Hannah’s first real onscreen boatmance. She got involved with bosun Conrad Empson. However, Captain Sandy believed that their new relationship was distracting Conrad from doing his job correctly. She urged him to focus on work instead of Hannah. Deckhand João Franco also had a bit of a love triangle of his own with stews Brooke Laughton and Kasey Cohen. He chooses Brooke in the end but would still flirt with Kasey. Sometimes, he would flirt with her right in front of Brooke.

Season Four

At number three, we have Below Deck Med season four. It was a mess of a season as it included three different chefs, but it also included one of the sweetest boatmances in the history of the franchise. Chef Mila Kolomeitseva was fired after episode five when it was discovered that she may have lied on her resume. Not only did Mila heat steaks in the microwave, but she made a plate of nachos that Hannah was unwilling to give to the guests. She was eventually replaced by Anastasia Surmava and then by Chef Ben Robinson. Second stew Aesha Scott found herself in a boatmance with the attractive deckhand Jack Stirrup. The two were inseparable the whole season. However, they broke up after they returned to their respective homes.

Season Two

At number two, we have season two. It was one of the more memorable seasons, thanks to the intense love triangle between Malia White, Adam Glick, and Wes Walton. During the season, it was revealed that Malia and Adam had met before filming and began a relationship. However, after Malia met Wes and the two began working closely together, she began to develop feelings for him. This drove Adam crazy, leading him to put onions in the primary’s food although the guest specifically requested no onions. Adam, who appeared on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, even playfully gave Wes a wedgie during one of their days off in Croatia. This led Malia to completely break things off with the chef and focus on Wes.

Season Five

At number one, we have the best season, which is Below Deck Med season 5. The most recent season included more than one firing, a walk-off, the return of two of Below Deck Med’s favorite stews, and a deckhand getting fired by the network. Lara Flumiani was Hannah’s second stew on The Wellington. She only lasted three episodes before she decided to leave the boat. Chef Kiko Lorran was also fired halfway through the season after the disastrous Vegas night dinner.

Shortly after Kiko left, Hannah was fired for having unregistered Valium and a vape pen on board, which was found by her roommate Malia. Hannah’s firing caused major backlash. Fans were calling for Captain Sandy and Malia to be fired. Deckhand Peter Hunziker was let go after the season’s filming concluded. Bravo discovered that he had shared a racist post on Instagram. Bravo announced that his scenes would be minimized during the second half of the season.

Since the show, Hannah has built a new life for herself, which includes a beautiful baby girl. She doesn’t seem to miss life at sea, which she was clearly getting tired of towards the end of her Below Deck Med stint. While she’s parenting, she’s also doing sponsored posts on Instagram which help her to keep money coming in. The charismatic Below Deck Med alum seems quite content with her life off the show, but a lot of fans would love to see her return.
