Hulk Hero Reveals Epic New EyeBeam Gamma Power to Rival Superman

A new hero who rose up amid the events of the Immortal Hulk storyline reveals an epic eye-beam power she gained after being exposed to gamma that could rival the power shared by Superman. Jackie McGee was a reporter who joined up with the Hulk while working on an article about the Strongest Avenger. McGee had been present throughout the Immortal Hulk series and through the adventures, she shared with the Hulk, she was exposed to heavy amounts of gamma radiation, the same semi-supernatural substance that turned Bruce Banner into the Hulk, and through that exposure, she gained some incredible powers, ones that would give even Superman pause.

In Immortal Hulk #50 written by Al Ewing with art by Joe Bennett and Ruy Jose, Hulk, Joe Fixit, and Jackie McGee travel to the Below-Place to retrieve Bruce Banner and defeat the One Below All once and for all. When the team are face-to-face with the elder god made manifest through the gigantic and twisted form of the Leader, the two Hulks use their fists to try to break Banner free from its demonic grip. Jackie, whose powers were still manifesting at this point, gains full access to her blooming abilities and shoots a powerful laser beam from her eyes. The eye-beam is enough to gravely injure the One Below All and was integral to retrieving Banner from its terrible grip.

Up until her trip to the Below-Place, Jackie’s power only showed itself in the form of a deeper sight and awareness to gamma-linked supernatural entities. Jackie could see what would otherwise be invisible to anyone in regard to gamma-radiated demons. Until that point in Immortal Hulk #50, Jackie had no physically harmful attributes to her optic powers, but seemingly unlocked in the stress of the situation her full power manifested and she unleashed its raw destructive capabilities on one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe and was successful in injuring it.

Based on the damage done to such a powerful being as the One Below All, it is safe to say that Jackie’s eye-beam power can rival Superman’s. Superman’s eye-beam is insanely powerful, having used his heat vision to deflect Darkseid’s Omega Beams, but Jackie’s beam was enough to gravely injure an all-powerful god. Plus, the unknown implications of the supernatural element behind Jackie’s eye-beam have much more substantial and ever-present backing in terms of power source than Superman’s solar-powered heat vision.

Going a step further in comparing Jackie’s eye-beam to Superman’s, the supernatural power source behind Jackie’s power in the form of gamma could be enough to actually hurt Superman as it was able to hurt the One Below All. In contrast, Superman would be able to hurt Jackie and even fairly easily kill her, but that wouldn’t be enough to defeat her for good. Jackie is a gamma-mutate and therefore has access to the Green Door which makes her immortal. If Superman were to kill Jackie, she would just come back to life whereas if her power was enough to defeat Superman then the Man of Steel could be down for good. The new Hulk hero Jackie McGee has epic eye-beam gamma power that is seemingly able to rival Superman’s heat vision.
