It’s November 2019, the same month and year that serves as the dystopic “future” setting for Ridley Scott’s 1982 science fiction film, Blade Runner. Many fans are now looking to revisit the classic as a way to compare the technology in it to our own (spoiler alert: there are no such things as replicants… yet), so we’ve put together a guide to where you can watch Blade Runner online.

Blade Runner follows Rick Deckard, who has the titular job of hunting down bioengineered replicants and killing them. The specifics of this particular assignment revolve around dealing with four replicants who have escaped from the off-world colonies (where they work as slaves) and traveled to earth. Blade Runner features performances by Harrison Ford as Deckard, Rutger Hauer as Roy Batty and Sean Young as Rachael. After 35 years, a sequel to the film (Blade Runner 2049) was finally released with Harrison Ford reprising his role and Ryan Gosling joining him as the mysterious Officer K. Blade Runner 2049, while well-received, was a commercial failure, perhaps never achieving the originality of its predecessor.

Unfortunately, Blade Runner is not available on Netflix or Hulu, and you’ll have to pay extra to rent or buy it on Amazon Prime. It’s unsurprisingly not available in Apple TV Plus’ limited library, either. Here’s where you can (and can’t) watch Blade Runner online.

If you’re hoping to find Blade Runner on one of the streaming services you already subscribe to, there’s bad news: Blade Runner is not currently on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime. Netflix did have Blade Runner up until May 2016, when Sony Pictures acquired the rights. Because of a deal with Starz, Sony pulled all of its live-action movies from Netflix in 2011. Unless things change, don’t expect to see Blade Runner on Hulu or Netflix any time soon.

While Blade Runner isn’t included in Amazon Prime’s membership, you can rent or buy the movie on Prime. There are three different versions available: the original theatrical cut, the 1992 Director’s Cut, and the 2007 Final Cut (unfortunately you have to buy them each individually). Blade Runner is also available to buy/rent through Vudu, FandangoNOW, YouTube, Google Play, and iTunes – so you should be able to find a way to celebrate our lack of technological advancement before the month is over.
