10 Is Peter Quill A Celestial? No, That’s Only In The Movies

No, despite having access to a wide variety of powers Peter is not a Celestial. The Celestials are supposedly the first life-forms that ever existed in the universe, and they helped create the entire multiverse. Though they’ve been defeated before, most of the time Celestials are unstoppable not only because of their wisdom, but the sheer power and weaponry they wield. Peter isn’t anywhere near strong enough to have access to this kind of power, and this is something that only exists in the films. He is the son of Spartax royalty though.

In Annihilation: Conquest, a large part of why Star-Lord was allowed to try to attack the Phalanx was because of his name and what it meant to people. He gained a name for himself when he went up against Galactus’ former herald. After wanting to stop the herald from blowing up planets to starve Galactus, eventually, Star-Lord and Ship worked together to come up with another plan.

This new plan required destroying a large amount of land to overload the Fallen One with dangerous energy and knocking him out for a while. This legend allowed even the Kree to recognize Peter’s contributions and request his help.

After those wars, Quill believed the galaxy was falling apart thanks to such powerful people waging war all over the galaxy. He either has some form of immortality or agelessness, because he hasn’t aged at all. However, with Peter having mentioned he was in his 30’s before his adventure on Morinus, and spending 140 years there, the character has to be over 170.

But when J’Son got out of hand and tried to force Peter to become the prince of Spartax, the Guardians had enough. They managed to record J’Son in one of his worst moments and automatically broadcasted it to everyone on that planet. Within no time, J’Son was removed from being the true ruler of Spartax as the people rebelled against him.

Peter Quill’s element guns were introduced back in Star Lord’s first appearance. They’re a pair of guns that can use all four of the elements by focusing, mastering radiant energy, the mind and cosmos, the breath of life, and the physical world. After Quill made his way to Morinus, he learned how to build his own versions of them and even summon them whenever he wants them. Quill also massively charged both guns, making them capable of dealing damage to even characters like Zeus with all of his power. Quill has also shown the ability to absorb their energy too, meaning he can harm his enemies with the same energy he’s stolen from them.
