Former Dallas Cowboys running back Marion Barber was reportedly found dead in his apartment on Wednesday (June 1).

According to the Star-Telegram, the 38-year-old Frisco, Texas police discovered his body. The cause of death is currently unknown.

“Officers are currently out on a welfare concern, but we are unable to provide any further information at this time,” a Frisco police spokesperson stated, according to the newspaper.

Barber played seven seasons in the National Football League, including six for the Cowboys (2005-2011). During his career, he compiled 4,780 rushing yards and 53 touchdowns.

Barber played his final campaign for the Chicago Bears in 2011 and retired prior to the start of the 2012 season.
