Marvels SpiderMan 2 5 Suits To Keep (& 5 New Ones To Introduce)

While Spider-Man: Miles Morales only released at the tail end of last year, hype and excitement is already building ahead of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. So far, details over the title are being kept under wraps. Peter Parker and Miles seem to be returning, while Harry Osborn looks like he may be making his first appearance in the series. But, other than that, everything falls into the speculation category for the time being.

The first game contained many awesome suits. However, some were undeniably better than others. Here are five of Spider-Man’s suits that should be kept in the next game and five that Insomniac Games should introduce.

10 Keep: 2018 Advanced Suit

When the first trailer for 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man was shown off, the suit was instantly eyecatching. It would have been all too easy for Insomniac to stick with the classic red and blue attire without adding their own spin on things. However, determined to make their mark, the developers gave Peter Parker a brand new costume, especially for the game.

With its white spider in the middle, it’s different from anything seen before (especially for casual viewers). Peter should stick with it for the sequel because it would link things together, with the continuity likely to please fans who loved sporting it the first time around.

9 Introduce: Spider-Phoenix Suit

In the wonderful world of Marvel, the Phoenix Force is one of the most powerful of its kind. Movie fans will know it from the X-Men series, with Jean Grey taking on dangerous powers in both 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand and 2019’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix. It basically elevates her to the status of god – but she’s not only character in the comics to have a brush with the mysterious entity.

Spider-Man #25 sees Peter Parker team up the Phoenix Force to fight a group of android clones of the Excalibur team. He then gets a bright red suit with bright yellow eyes, something the powers of the newer consoles would easily be able to bring to life. Here’s hoping Insomniac deem it worthy of inclusion.

8 Keep: Iron Spider Suit

Tom Holland is arguably the most popular version of Peter Parker and Spider-Man to date, with his stock rising steadily ever since his debut appearance in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War. The British actor has been lucky to don some pretty cool costumes during his time as the character – with the Iron Spider Suit one of the best of the bunch.

Therefore, when Marvel decided to include it for the 2018 video game, it pleased plenty of people. Given it’s worn by Holland in both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, it would make sense to keep it. This would allow fans to feel like they’re living in those worlds, plus the metallic spider legs are awesome too.

7 Introduce: Superior Spider-Man Suit

The Superior Spider-Man series is definitely pretty ambitious. It involves Peter Parker and Otto Octavius effectively swapping bodies, allowing the super-villain to go undercover as his fierce enemy and bring chaos to the streets of New York City. Peter dies as Otto but his consciousness lives on and he regularly implores his former mentor to reconsider his approach to ridding the streets of crime.

For all of its shortcomings, however, the suit is majestic to look at. A hybrid of the colors red and black, it’s arguably smarter than the outfit Peter makes for himself towards the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Just looking at it makes it tempting to play in, so it’s another Marvel should consider putting in the sequel.

6 Keep: Classic Suit

Sure, it really was great that Insomniac included so many different suits when making the 2018 game. But, while there’s the case, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of retro.

So that’s why it’s worth keeping the classic suit in the game, even if it may not be the most popular. Playing in red and blue is what many dreamed of as a child and the classic suit is smart, keeps things simple, and makes fans feel like they’re the hero you always wanted to be. For those reasons, it would be wise to leave this costume in.

5 Introduce: Amazing Spider-Man 2 Suit

Pretty much every Spider-Man suit from the live-action movies has been included in the series. However, there are still a couple of absentees. And one is the costume Andrew Garfield wears during The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Insomniac did put Garfield’s costume from The Amazing Spider-Man into the first game, so it would definitely make sense to do the same for the next game. It’s worn by Peter as he battles formidable foes such as Electro and Rhino, while also being sported when Gwen Stacy is heartbreakingly killed off. Given how prominent it is within that movie, it would be a great inclusion to the game.

4 Keep: Sam Raimi Suit

The Raimi trilogy has already been referenced a couple of times in this article, so it’s time to bring it up again. When Marvel’s Spider-Man originally released back in 2018, many people were in uproar at Insomniac’s failure to include the attire worn by Tobey Maguire during his three movies. Fortunately, the developers listened and later satisfied the masses by giving it the glossy video game treatment.

Given how brilliant the trilogy is, it’s worth keeping. And with Maguire possibly reprising his role when Spider-Man: No Way Home hits theatres at the end of the year, binning it off would be plain wrong. Whether the first-ever live-action Spidey comes back for more, however, is yet to be officially confirmed.

3 Introduce: The Symbiote Suit

If fans type the words ‘the Symbiote suit mod’ on Google images, there are instant results that show fans modding the iconic outfit into the Spider-Man game. And, with Harry Osborn potentially primed to become Venom in this universe, its inclusion has never made more sense.

Spider-Man changes when he’s in this suit, becoming far more aggressive as both a hero and as Peter Parker. The prospect of it appearing in the next game is certainly mouthwatering.

2 Keep: Anti Ock Suit

At the end of 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man, Peter fights Otto Octavius. The scientist has become deranged by this point and is hellbent on murdering Norman Osborn, who he blames for his career shortcomings. Otto is the hardest boss in the game to defeat, which makes sense given he’s potentially the webslinger’s smartest foe.

So that means that the Anti Ock suit is really earned. This is Peter 2.0, stronger, quicker, and better than ever before. It would be a shame to take the outfit away given all the hard work that goes into getting it in the first place, while it’s also symbolic of the dark place he finds himself in after many difficult events.

1 Introduce: Spider-Man 3 Symbiote Suit

If they’re going to introduce the Symbiote Suit in the next game, they may as well given the same outfit worn by Tobey Maguire during Spider-Man 3 the same treatment.

That movie is polarising, but, visually, it’s way ahead of its time. The decision to introduce the black suit was hugely popular and, even if it didn’t quite live up to expectations, it’s grown somewhat iconic in the years since. Imagine what fans could do with the churches in New York and the fun photo mode…
