The trashy new reality dating series Too Hot to Handle seems to be the newest Netflix guilty pleasure. Cut from the mold of Love Island and Love is Blind, the series follows a group of hot young singles gathered in a swanky tropical villa for four weeks as they try to find true love. But here’s the catch…
Sex is strictly forbidden. In fact, physical gratification of any kind, including masturbation, is not allowed on the island. If contestants are found guilty of breaking the rules, money is deducted from the $100,000 prize pool. Talk about a bang for a buck! Here are five contestants who deserved to find true love, and five who didn’t!
10 Bryce (Undeserving)
They say love is all about timing, but, for the overly-tanned boatman Bryce Hirschberg, he came to the island a tad too late to find true love. But was he really deserving of it anyway?
Bryce cockily entered the island by declaring he has sex every single night with a different girl on his boat in Los Angeles. Hardly bring him home to mom material, ay? But even more alarming is that Bryce is actually an actor in real life, as well as a filmmaker who directed his own feature called Counterfeiters in 2017. Therefore, his motives cannot be trusted!
9 Nicole (Undeserving)
Of all the contestants, none seemed to get a more unfair shake than the sweet Irish lass Nicole. While she refrained from physical contact enough to warrant winning the prize money, one cannot say she deserved to find true love given the lack of connections made on the island.
Nicole initially pairs with Matthew, the hippy-Jesus from Colorado. Without a real romantic spark, Nicole remains one of the most ignored contestants on the show. She lacks screen time, lacks romantic dalliances, and certainly lacks true love.
8 Francesca (Undeserving)
Likely the most controversial, polarizing contestant on the show, Francesca simply seems too insatiable, too philandering, and frankly, too hot to handle when it comes to deserving true love!
Where to begin? Frankie starts a torrid fling with the Aussie hottie Harry, the 6’5” baby-man, only to pie that sucker off when he belies the instigation of their first romantic kiss. Frankie then moves on to the gargantuan Kelz with a randy shower tryst, only to dump him the very next day to be back with Harry. Frankie also indulges cheating on Harry again with Kori, cementing her underserving status.
7 Kori (Undeserving)
Poor Kori. Dude came in for a cup of coffee and was out the door in a quick hurry. Guess that’s what happens when you arrive on the island with only two episodes remaining. WTF!
Even still, Kori is such an overly cocky ladies’ man that, despite garnering genuine interest from Chole, chose to torpedo Harry by asking his girl Francesca out for a date. Frankie ponders jumping Kori’s bones, only to resist the temptation in the end. Afterward, Kori exhibits a snotty personality only outdone by that of Haley.
6 Haley (Undeserving)
Speaking of Haley, most would agree that she was the absolute worst and most unpleasant contestant of the entire show. Even Lana, the automated host of the series, felt the need to outright boot Haley off the island for failing to remotely invest in the game in earnest.
The only relationship of note Haley forms is with Francesca. The two girls hatch a plan to get back at the group for siding with Harry after his kiss with Frankie was revealed. The plan includes Haley and Frankie secretly kissing and stubbornly failing to cop to it upon Lana’s confrontation. Thanks to Jesus Matthew, the coy scheme was discovered.
5 Matthew (Deserving)
We understand that Jesus is a sole gunner, but, man, the way in which Matthew was summarily self-dismissed from the show makes you think he got an unfair shake to find true love on the show.
With nary a romantic connection with anyone on the island, Matthew was left to act as the big-brother on the island, one who doles out advice. When he finally thinks his luck is changing with the arrival of Madison, his conversational skills crash and burn any potential pairing. As a result, Matthew self-checks out before the show ends. Poor guy!
4 Chloe (Deserving)
No contestant was more deserving of true love than Chloe, the sweet, smart, goodhearted British bird who got more mugged off than a repeat-robbery victim. Despite her best intentions, she received the worst treatment.
The 21-year-old model from Essex played the game by the rules, never allowing her lusty desires to get the best of her. Despite her decorum, Chloe thought she met her match when Kori arrived on the island. Kori even expressed interest in taking Chloe out on a date. Instead, Kori opted to steal Francesca away from Harry, leaving Chloe in the lurch. One of the best parts of the entire series is watching Chloe tell them both the F off immediately after!
3 David (Deserving)
Every contestant on the show is billed as a sex-starved player who revels in no-strings one-night stands. Somehow, David does not fit that description, both in his action and his proper British accent.
David is such a nice guy that, despite having an interest in Rhonda early on, honorably steps aside to allow his one true friend on the show, Sharron, to pursue Rhonda in earnest. The one proviso is that Sharron must open up and allow himself to trust Rhonda. What a guy! David also shows an unreciprocated interest in Chloe, leaving him to hopefully find true love with Lydia in the end.
2 Sharron (Deserving)
Who couldn’t root for Sharron to find true love? Once we learn he’s endured a severely shattered heart over his former girlfriend dumping him to be with his best friend, we hope he takes the next step with Rhonda.
And, wisely, that’s what Sharron ultimately does. Thanks to his friendship with David, not to mention the genuine bond formed with Rhonda, Sharron evolves to let his guard down, open up, communicate, and allow himself to trust again. As a result, “Sharronda” is the best couple on the show!
1 Rhonda (Deserving)
Despite a slight flirtation with British bloke David at the beginning, it was clear from the jump that Rhonda only had eyes for Sharron, but what makes their love truly deserving is how Sharron reacted to the news about Rhonda’s baby!
Moreover, whereas Sharron had his heart broken once before, Rhonda had her’s shattered in similar fashion three times. Therefore, their bond allows them to heal old scars while becoming closer to each other. When Sharron learns that Rhonda has a baby, he does not freak out but rather genuinely embraces the situation with plans to continue dating back on the mainland.
