The Pokemon series has many different held items that assist players’ Pokemon in battle, with Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl being no exception. Players looking to boost the power of one of their Pokemon’s Water-type moves may be interested in an item known as Mystic Water.

Mystic Water first appeared in Pokemon Gold and Silver and has since appeared in many games afterward, including Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Usually only one can be found, but there are ways for players to get more than one during their Sinnoh journeys.

When equipped with a Mystic Water, a Pokemon’s Water-types gain a +20% to their overall power. This can completely change some battles if given to the right Pokemon, making Mystic Water an incredibly helpful item to find.

Pastoria City’s Mystic Water

In the overworld, there is one Mystic Water that players can pick up. It is in Pastoria City, but it requires players to have access to Surf in order to get it.

While in Pastoria City, players need to use Surf on the water in the southeastern corner of the city. From there, players need to hug the northern treeline unti theyl find a patch of land to leave the water on. Following the path of this land patch will lead to an item ball containing a Mystic Water.

Castform’s Mystic Water

If players want more than one Mystic Water without trading with other players, they have the option to do so. Castform found in the Sinnoh region have a 100% chance to be carrying a Mystic Water if found in the wild. Finding it though is a completely different story.

Castform can only be found in the Pokemon Mansion’s Trophy Garden after certain tasks are completed. The first of these and biggest of them all is the player obtaining the National Pokedex. After doing so, there is a small chance that talking to Mr. Backlot will reveal that Castform are spawning in his Trophy Garden that day. If Castform isn’t the spawn of the day, players will need to wait 24 hours before talking to Mr. Backlot again for a new Pokemon.

Players can either use the move Thief on the wild Castform or catch them in order to get the Mystic Water from them. This can be done as many times players manage to find a wild Castform.
