Pokemon GO’s Bug Out event is now live in the game, giving the world’s Pokemon trainers the chance to catch a ton of bug-type Pokemon between now and when it ends on April 9 at 1:00pm PST. As with other Pokemon GO events, the Bug Out event includes its own Field Research quests that will only be available for a limited time.
The five Pokemon GO bug event Field Research quests, unsurprisingly, involve bug-type Pokemon. Players are tasked with catching a certain number of bug-type Pokemon, catching specific bug-type Pokemon, or evolving bug-type Pokemon. Most of the tasks feature encounter rewards that will give players the chance to catch even more bug-type Pokemon, but one of the tasks includes Stardust as a reward.
Pokemon GO Bug Event Quests and Rewards
- Catch 15 bug-type Pokemon – 1,500 Stardust
- Catch 10 bug-type Pokemon – Scyther
- Catch 2 Wurmple – Caterpie
- Catch 5 Ledyba or Spinarak – Yanma
- Evolve 3 bug-type Pokemon – Nincada
Nincada is a relatively rare bug-type Pokemon, so the Bug Out event should give Pokemon GO fans who haven’t found one yet the opportunity to add it to their collection. Meanwhile, Yanma has a Gen 4 evolution called Yanmega that requires a Sinnoh Stone as well as candy, so its inclusion in the Bug Out event Field Research tasks is appreciated as well.
Unlike Yanmega and Nincada, Caterpie is a Pokemon that has been easy to find in Pokemon GO throughout the game’s lifespan. Even so, shiny Caterpie is rare, but this Field Research should give fans a better chance to add one to their collection. Shiny Scyther is also in Pokemon GO now as part of the Bug Out event, so players should be sure to catch as many Scyther as they can while the event is live.
Pokemon GO’s Bug Out event is live now and will last until April 2 at 1:00pm PST. More Pokemon GO events are expected to take place in April and beyond, so fans of the game should stay tuned for more information.
Pokemon GO is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
