Pokemon GO How To Prepare For Eevee Community Day Weekend

Pokemon GO’s August Community Day is just a week away, which means players have Eevee, and its many evolutions, on the brain. This weekend Pokemon GO players will have not just three, but six hours to catch as many of the Gen 1 creature as possible and expand their collection with shiny spawns, Eevee evolutions, and hopefully a few more surprises.

The basic idea of Community Day is pretty simple: Go out and catch a ton of pokemon for three hours, but this time around things are different. Instead of a one-day event, August’s Community Day has three hour blocks on both Saturday and Sunday. For players who need a little more direction than that, we’ve put together a comprehensive guide full of all the intel you need for the big day.

Featured Pokemon

Eevee – Gen 1 Normal-type with a variety of evolutions

Dates

Saturday, August 11 and Sunday, August 12

Start and End Times

Europe, Middle East, Africa, India: 10am to 1pm UK (BST), 11am to 2pm CET

North America, South America and Greenland: 11am to 2pm PST, 2pm to 5pm EST

Asia Pacific: 12pm to 3pm JST

Special Move

Eevee’s Exclusive Move is still a mystery at this point, but will likely be confirmed in the next few days. Whatever the move ends up being, make sure to evolve during the active time window if you want to secure it.

Bonuses

Lures will last for three hours during the event.

Players will receive triple Stardust during the event windows.

Limited Time Field Research

Recent updates to the game’s code suggest that this Community Day, like last month’s, will temporarily offer special Field Research tasks that put an emphasis on the featured Pokemon. Be sure to claim your rewards and clear out a space for these quests if you want to see them.

Last month’s event offered special Squirtle Squad shades through Field Research, so keep an eye on the Research during the event to see if anything special pops up.

Shiny Variant

Niantic usually doesn’t confirm the shiny chance until after the event has started, but keep an eye out for shiny Eevee while hunting. They’ve been a part of every other Community Day event, so we fully expect to see them on Saturday.

Eevee Evolution Items Or Tricks

So far, Niantic hasn’t confirmed if trainers will be able to control Eevee’s evolutions during the event. There have been rumors that Evolution Stones would be released and that two new Eevee evolutions may arrive during the weekend. If so, more hints will likely arrive in the next few days.

That’s everything we know at this point! Check back for updates closer to the event. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
