Quick Links

As more and more Pokemon get added to the Pokemon Unite roster, the battlefield will evolve due to new strategies and builds becoming available. As Greedent enters the scene, trainers can pick a Defender whose main purpose is to sustain themselves in battle with constant HP regeneration.

However, some of Greedent’s moves are a bit tricky to use and lack impact, and therefore should be avoided unless players have a specific niche tactic in mind. Those wishing to partner up with this hungry and hectic ally in Pokemon Unite will need to consider the best items for their build as well as which moves to use.

Greedent’s Moves

Move #1 – Stuff Cheeks

Greedent’s gimmick is that, on every boosted attack (the third attack in every basic attack combo), it drops a berry, which the player can pick up to both heal a little bit of HP and increase Greedent’s berry meter (to a maximum of 5).

Stuff Cheeks will allow Greedent to enhance the effectiveness of their gimmick by dropping a bunch of berries at once. As such, Stuff Cheeks can be useful to quickly heal a decent amount of HP and to quickly fill Greedent’s berry meter, which will essentially power up both of their potential offensive moves.

Move #2 – Covet

This chaotic move is a very unique way to hinder enemies in that it causes Greedent to constantly move in the direction indicated by the player while also automatically hitting and slightly bumping enemies the user makes contact with. Though, the damage done by Covet is minimal and the bumps to foes are nothing close to any of the true throws in the game.

Greedent will also drop berries during this move and can use Bullet Seed or Belch, but the constant movement makes it difficult for players to control Greedent, which, in turn, makes it difficult to aim any offensive attacks.

Move #3 – Bullet Seed

One of Greedent’s two offensive moves, Bullet Seed acts like a machine gun capable of sustained fire. This is a bit different from many moves in Pokemon Unite as players can continuously use it for a few seconds while manually aiming and moving around. This makes Bullet Seed useful for attacking enemies while on the move, as it also decreased their movement speed, however, its constant low level of damage often lacks impact on its own.

The damage of this move can be increased by how many berries Greedent is holding, but this buff to damage dealt isn’t very noticeable, even at the maximum number of berries held.

Move #4 – Belch

Conversely to Bullet Seed, Belch is more typical for a move in Pokemon Unite in that it launches a cone-shaped area of effect attack that can strike multiple foes in a single blow, albeit on a slight delay after the player uses it. Though, similar to Bullet Seed, this move gets enhanced the more berries Greedent possesses–but not in the damage department.

When used, Belch will consume all held berries and reduce its cooldown, with more berries consumed resulting in a bigger reduction to cooldown time. Finally, Belch does more damage on average than Bullet Seed, and also will decrease the movement speed of enemies for a brief period, which will make it preferable to many trainers.

Greedent’s Ability & Unite Move

Greedent’s Ability – Cheek Pouch

Cheek Pouch will allow Greedent to acquire many berries in combination with the effect of this Pokemon’s boosted attacks. It’s pretty simple in concept and only adds effectiveness to Greedent’s gimmick playstyle.

Greedent’s Unite Move – Belly Flop

While being a solid body slam attack, Greedent also gets a heal when beginning to use their unite move and gains the effect of being able to store an infinite amount of berries for a brief time, allowing for a mighty spray from Bullet Seed or being able to instantly refresh Belch multiple times.

Breakdown Of The Best Build For Greedent

After taking a look at all of Greedent’s traits, the best build seems to be one focusing on using Belch as much as possible while also increasing survivability. Here are the build specifications that seem the most optimal for this melee Defender:
