After 12 seasons on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, fans on Reddit think it’s time for Kyle Richards to take a break from the spotlight.

Kyle Richards is one of the fundamental housewives in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She is one of the longest-serving cast members with 11 (soon to be 12) seasons under her belt. Over the years, fans have gotten to know her extensive family issues, arguments with friends, and her dedication to her work outside of filming. But after 11 years, fans on Reddit think Kyle has overstayed her welcome.

As many zany quotes as Kyle has had over the years (not to mention hilarious facial reactions), many feel it’s time for Kyle to branch out away from the Bravo show. Whether that means launching a spinoff or spending time with her family, perhaps Kyle should take her final bow.

It’s Time For A Spinoff

Kyle is the mother of four daughters and a wife to fan-favorite RHOBH husband, Mauricio. After so many years on the show, some fans think Kyle should leave the series and launch her own spinoff. It’s unclear how many fans would tune in to her theoretical spinoff but it could be an easy transition. LemonJolly told Reddit, “I think she only leaves to start a spinoff.” A spinoff of Kyle’s life as a working mother and wife could be the perfect chance to step away from RHOBH for good.

She Doesn’t Bring Much To The Show

Being on the show for so long, Kyle has been a part of most of the important episodes in RHOBH. She’s been honest about her sister Kim’s sobriety, she’s blindly supported Lisa Vanderpump in most arguments with the women, and she’s been involved with Erika Jayne’s legal issues in season 11.

However, HeisenbergsBlackHat thinks “[Kyle] brings nothing to the show except an array of facial expressions.” If it weren’t for Kyle, fans wouldn’t have some important parts of RHOBH history — including Kathy Hilton as a friend of the series or an ongoing battle with former Housewife Camille Grammer.

Kyle Is “Reactive” Instead Of “Proactive”

Kyle gets involved in most storylines in the series because she’s one of the neutral friends in the social circle. It’s rare for Kyle to be enemies with someone on the series for an extended amount of time. In fact, BJApa thinks that Kyle is reactive when she should be proactive. “She truly never brought anything, all her storylines were about her kids going to college, and she was very reactive vs proactive,” they wrote.

Instead of controlling or regulating situations, Kyle has oftentimes reacted in the heat of the moment. A great example of this was one of the most outrageous RHOBH moments when the women were in Amsterdam. Instead of controlling the argument between her sister and Lisa Rinna, she ran away from the table in a burst of emotion. While it sometimes makes good TV, Kyle’s reactions can start to grate on viewers.

Kyle Sometimes Plays The Victim

There were plenty of things that fans didn’t know about newer housewife Sutton Stracke when she joined the cast. But in season 11, she became closer with the other women and more open. Her friendship with Kyle was especially highlighted because Kyle supported Erika during her legal troubles while Sutton questioned it all.

With Kyle being friends with both Erika and Sutton, it was surprising when Kyle played the victim and threw Sutton under the bus for things she said about Erika — even though Kyle felt the same. One Redditor noticed Kyle’s behavior and wrote, “She plays [the] victim too much and is the ultimate mean girl.” On the contrary, Kyle has owned her mistakes in the series and often confronts the issue instead of rolling over.

Her History With Her Sisters Was Too Dark

There are rumors that Bravo originally wanted a series that focused on Kyle and her two sisters, Kim and Kathy, but when Kathy didn’t want to join the series, the network kept Kim and Kyle on the roster for RHOBH.

The Richard sisters are deeply interesting, and their time on the show has been everything fans didn’t know they needed. As always though, there are fans who think Kyle’s dynamic with her sisters is too dark. Desaparecidose felt like Kyle’s relationship with her sister Kim was “mean and disrespectful and showed an underlying hostility that freaked me out.” Because of that dynamic, Kyle may want to consider leaving the series to work on rebuilding that relationship away from the cameras.

It’s Time For Kyle To Focus On Acting

One of Kyle’s first taglines as a housewife was about how she was a child star. Kyle and Kim grew up in the spotlight after becoming child actors. While Kim was the bigger star, Kyle is one of many RHOBH stars who also act. More recently, fans were happy to see her in the 2021 movie, Halloween Kills.

One Redditor commended Richards’ performance and felt like it was her true calling instead of reality TV. They wrote, “Kyle really surprised me here and she was criminally underused for someone who gave one of the best performances in the film.” Could leaving The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills be Kyle’s chance to focus on the big screen instead of reality TV?

Kyle Should Move Behind-The-Scenes

There are rumors that Kyle Richards has ties to RHOBH’s production team because no matter how many issues she or her family has, she typically comes out smelling like roses instead of being villainized. While her former best friend Lisa Vanderpump was painted as the villain before she left the show, Kyle has also had villainous moments but without the same backlash.

Little_Education_872 thinks there’s something behind-the-scenes that fans aren’t aware of. “[It] makes me think [Kyle and Lisa] may be producing and helping write the screen story,” they said. If Kyle does have pull, it could be a smart move to leave as a housewife and become a producer for the show.

It’s Time To Step Away From The Spotlight

With fans on Reddit hoping Kyle transitions to acting, a spinoff, or a role outside of RHOBH, maybe it’s time for Kyle to step away from the cameras altogether and spend time with her family. Considering how much she loves being a mom to four daughters, spending time outside of the spotlight could give her more time with them.

TeddiRoseToes admitted that they aren’t the biggest fan of Kyle’s but she is a great mom. “[Kyle] seems very connected and hands-on with her kids without being (too) overbearing, which warms my heart,” they wrote. In fact, Kyle’s children are some of the most loved kids in the Housewives world and are viewed as the most “normal.”

Every Housewife Needs A Break

Unlike a majority of the housewives, Kyle has never taken a break from the series. She’s been a part of the show for 12 straight seasons without as much as a season off to cool down and unwind. Filming that much for a reality TV show has the potential to burn anyone out, but Kyle keeps on going.

Little_Education_872 feels that it’s “sketchy” that “Kyle has been on every single season.” Not to mention she views herself as the main character in an ensemble cast. It’s been seen before that those housewives who don’t take breaks allow their egos to get the best of them and downfalls occur. Perhaps it’s time Kyle takes a small leave of absence to come back stronger in the future.

Kyle Tries Too Hard

Vcarson feels that “Kyle is failing hard at trying to be [the] new LVP.” This could mean that Kyle is trying too hard to be someone she isn’t for the sake of the show. Lisa Vanderpump – also known as LVP – was one of the more entertaining housewives, so when she left the series and ended her friendship with Kyle, fans felt that Kyle was trying to fill the void. If she’s trying too hard to be relevant or entertaining for the show, it’s time to step away from RHOBH for a bit to try different avenues.
