Samsungs 2021 Galaxy A Series US Release Date & Pricing Explained

Samsung has five new Galaxy A Android phones coming soon to U.S. customers, with all of them offering impressive features and specs at competitive price tags. While Samsung is most commonly talked about for its Galaxy S, Note, and Fold devices, it also has a robust lineup of budget options. Expensive flagships tend to grab the most headlines, but when it comes to phones that everyday people are buying, that’s where Samsung’s more affordable gadgets shine.

Back in March, Samsung unveiled its latest round of budget phones with announcements for the Galaxy A52, A52 5G, and A72. All three phones looked to be pretty fantastic values, but at the time, Samsung had only revealed pricing and availability info for European markets. Now, however, Samsung has unveiled when U.S. shoppers will be able to get their hands on the phones (and how much they’ll cost).

There are a total of five Galaxy A handsets that are being launched, including the Galaxy A52 5G, A42 5G, A32 5G, A12, and A02s. All of these devices have previously been available in other markets around the globe, but Samsung notes they’re just now coming to the U.S. for the first time. The A52 5G is the most expensive of all the new phones, featuring a starting price of $499. The A42 5G and A32 5G are a bit more affordable, coming in at $399 and $279, respectively. Shoppers with especially tight budgets will want to keep an eye on the A12 and A02s, which will start at $179 and $109.

Samsung’s 2021 Galaxy A Phones Go On Sale This Month

While pricing for the new Galaxy A devices is pretty straightforward, things get a little complicated in regards to when and where people can buy them. The first phone to be released is the Galaxy A42 5G, which will be available starting April 8 at Verizon. From there, the Galaxy A52 5G, A32 5G, and A12 will all go on sale April 9. The A52 5G is being sold through AT&T, Metro, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and unlocked via Samsung’s official website. The A32 5G and A12 can both be purchased at Cricket, Metro, and T-Mobile, with the A12 also being sold at AT&T. The Galaxy A02s will then launch on April 29 at Verizon, Boost, Charter, Metro, US Cellular, and unlocked on Samsung’s website.

It would have been nice if Samsung’s release strategy was a bit more straightforward for the new A devices, but regardless, these could prove to be some of the better smartphone values of 2021. The Galaxy A52 5G is especially compelling, seeing as how it has a 120Hz AMOLED display, four rear cameras, and a 4,500 mAh battery. Getting all of that for just $499 should make it an excellent deal, and it’s bound to give Google’s Pixel 4a 5G a run for its money. The A32 5G could also be pretty disruptive, offering a 90Hz LCD display, four rear cameras, and an even larger 5,000 mAh battery for a mere $279. Considering just how popular the A51 proved to be last year, it’s only safe to assume that this latest batch of A devices will be huge money-makers for Samsung.
