The Batman New Look At Penguin Chase Revealed In LEGO Set

New LEGO sets for The Batman reveal a new look at the Penguin Chase in the film and many other notable new peeks at the film. The Batman is the latest iteration of DC’s Batman franchise, this time directed by Matt Reeves and starring Robert Pattinson as the titular character. The film co-stars Colin Farrell as Penguin, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth.

Most of the aforementioned characters are seen in the first trailer for The Batman, which also teases a car chase with the Penguin in the film. The new Batmobile featured in the trailer and images is a very different version of the iconic car than has been seen before. Also teased thus far is Zoe Kravitz in her Catwoman costume and Paul Dano in a variation of his costume as The Riddler. Wright’s Jim Gordon is also prominent in the first trailer, but Serkis’ Alfred is only heard and not seen on camera. A new trailer for The Batman is expected to debut during DC’s FanDome on October 16th, which will feature new footage from the upcoming film.

However, LEGO may have beaten DC FanDome to the punch in terms of new peeks at The Batman, as the company has released an in-depth look at their wave of sets for the film. One of those sets focuses on the Penguin Chase, which has Minifigures of both Batman and Penguin, along with the Batmobile. Additional sets include The Batcave, which features a slew of Minifigures and gives a first look at Andy Serkis’ version of Alfred (in Minifigure form), along with Minifigs for Batman, Bruce Wayne, Catwoman, and The Riddler. Another set features Batman and Catwoman, which also comes with the new Bat-Signal. Lastly, LEGO is putting the new Batmobile in its Technic line, which also has a light-up brick. All of the sets will be released on November 1st, 2021. Check out images from the sets below:

LEGO has produced many Batman-related sets in the past, covering the various film incarnations as well as original sets made exclusively for the company. Recently, LEGO created two adult builder sets for Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman, one featuring The Batmobile and one featuring The Batwing. LEGO revealed another new Batmobile set, this time for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, which featured the vehicle known as The Tumbler.

The Batman is said to be less of an origin movie, taking place in the second year of Bruce Wayne’s journey as Batman, rather than starting from scratch. The film appears to be set in its own DC universe, although with the multiverse concept being introduced in 2022’s The Flash, it remains to be seen if that will stick, as that film will include both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as Batman, who come from separate films within the DC Universe. Regardless of where the film fits in the DC Universe, many have high expectations for it, with star Andy Serkis saying The Batman will be another masterpiece from director Matt Reeves.
