Warner Bros. and DC Films’ The Suicide Squad is currently the best-reviewed movie in the DC Extended Universe.

At the time of this writing, The Suicide Squad has a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes with 46 reviews. Of course, it’s still early, so this number is most certainly subject to change. Even so, it’s still significantly higher than its DCEU counterparts: Wonder Woman (93%), Shazam! (90%), Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) (79%), Zack Snyder’s Justice League (71%), Aquaman (65%), Wonder Woman 1984 (59%), Man of Steel (56%), Justice League (40%), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (28%) and Suicide Squad (26%).

Perhaps most notable on the list above is the lowest-rated film, Suicide Squad. James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad serves as a soft reboot of its 2016 predecessor, bringing back such characters as Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Rick Flag and Amanda Waller while introducing new soon-to-be favorites like Peacemaker, Bloodsport, Ratcatcher 2, Polka-Dot Man and King Shark.

For some, like Peacemaker actor John Cena, Suicide Squad’s lackluster reception actually served as fuel to help make The Suicide Squad the best it could be. “That made me want to dive in the son of a bitch extra hard. There is no more satisfying situation than to change someone’s mind,” Cena explained. “And then you look at the people involved in trying to orchestrate that choice. Like I said, I’ve been on James every day. And I think he kind of likes having that chip on his shoulder. He probably won’t admit it, but I think he kind of likes it and he wants to be able to change the perception of people who maybe weren’t so happy with the first they saw. It makes it fun.”
