The final trailer for John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place Past II has dropped and it silently reminds fans of the eerily quiet post-apocalyptic world that the Abbott family lives in. Similar to the first trailer released last year, the new video puts the family members in tricky situations as they leave their home and travel across the abandoned town in their struggle to survive in a world infested with monsters that are attracted to sound.

The trailer begins with a little background, showing fans a glimpse of how it all began. Krasinski’s Lee Abbott is seen picking up oranges from a grocery store, before the world changes completely. Most of the footage is what fans have already seen before, but the trailer does offer a few new scenes of the terrifying extraterrestrial creatures. Along with the trailer, Paramount also dropped a clip of Krasinski and Emily Blunt expressing their excitement over their film’s release and refer to it as “much bigger and scarier” than the first.

Paramount teased the release of the final trailer on Wednesday by sharing a 30-second clip that reminded fans of the Abbot family’s struggles and how being silent is the only way for them to survive. It was also the studio’s way of emphasizing the fact that A Quiet Place Part II would be releasing exclusively in theaters. Unlike Warner Bros. and Disney, Paramount will not be following the path of a simultaneous digital release. However, the film will be available to watch on Paramount Plus 45 days after its premiere.

The sequel to 2018’s A Quiet Place, a stress-inducing success, will bring back Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe. The story will pick up where the Abbott family left off, with Krasinski’s character sacrificing his own life to protect his family. After the “deadly events at home”, the remaining family members will now be forced to venture out into unknown territory. And as with any post-apocalyptic scenario, the monsters will not be the only threat this time around. On their journey, they come across other survivors, including Cillian Murphy’s Emmett.

The first trailer of the film arrived in January 2020, but since then, the studio has been very quiet when it comes to promoting the project. However, with just a few weeks left till its release, with the film scheduled to premiere on May 28, it was time to go into full promotional mode.

A Quiet Place Part II has faced several delays due to the ongoing pandemic. It was initially scheduled to release on March 20, 2020, but a decision was taken to delay it indefinitely just a week before its release, which is when the first set of lockdowns were put in place around the world. Following this decision, the film’s release date has been moved multiple times. While it was announced a while later that it would premiere in September 2020, it was moved further to April 2021, and finally to September 2021. However, with cinemas beginning to open up, Krasinski revealed that the date had been moved up to the Memorial Day weekend.
