World Of Warcraft What Is The Teleporter Repair Kit (& How To Use It)

The Teleporter Repair Kit in Shadowlands is an item that can be purchased from the Archivist, once players reach tier 3 research. It seems like a simple concept, but there are a lot of things players need to do to gain Archivist Codex reputation. Once level 3 research is achieved, gamers can buy the repair kit. As the name suggests, this item repairs teleporters.

There are two different teleporters on the map, which are active at different times. Gamers that are able to open one will be able to acquire several useful loot items. To get to research level 3 and activate the portals using the tool, follow this guide and the helpful tips within.

Getting Reputation With The Archivist

The Korthian questline begins with the “Researching Korthian Relics” quest. The item that initiates the quest, which bears the same name, is a drop from the rare mobs in Korthia. Players can also acquire it from chests and other activities on the map.

After finishing the first quest, gamers will need to get through seven more Archivist quests to begin accruing reputation with the Archivist’s Codex. They will need to finish four more quests before their character can begin researching. These next few quests are in place to teach people about the codex, how to find Relic Fragments, as how to improve Korthian equipment.

Research Levels 1-3

Once all of the initial quests are complete, gamers can begin to progress from research level 1 to level 3. Archivist Roh-Suir provides one new quest at each level to help characters gain reputation. The other method of increasing reputation is by farming Korthian Relics, which are dropped from rare mobs and chests throughout Korthia. At research level 2, the Archivist will award players with the All-Seeing Crystal, which reveals the locations of Korthia’s rare mobs.

While players will come across other relics, Relic Fragments are the most common items. Gamers can hand these in to Roh-Suir, who will grant one Catalogued Research per relic. Other uncommon and rare relics reward even more research. See below:

At each level, there are a number of other rare relics that can be picked up on the map and turned in to Roh-Suir for more research. Players will find relics by battling rare mobs, completing quests, and exploring Korthia.

Purchasing And Using The Teleporter Repair Kit

At level 3, anyone can purchase the Teleporter Repair Kit from Roh-Suir at (62.72, 22.55). Those research points that gamers spent time accruing can be used as a currency to purchase items from the Archivist as well. The Teleporter Repair Kit will set people back 50 research. To use the item, gamers will need to be in the right place at the right time.

How The Portals Work

There are two portals on the map. One is at (39.31, 52.4), and the other is at (45.01, 35.50). Every day one of the two portals will be active. Gamers will need to travel to these locations to find out which one is operational. Once the repair kit is used on an open portal, one character on the server is allowed to unlock it, and others are capable of joining into the event. For an hour after a Teleporter Repair Kit is used, the portal will remain inactive.

Everyone should LFG search to see if there are groups waiting to queue into the portal. Likewise, it can be beneficial to look in general chat or ask about the teleporters to see when the next one will be available. Waiting for an hour can be annoying, and in the meantime there are plenty of other things to do in 9.1. If the portal is not working, it has either been activated within the past hour, or gamers are at the wrong location.

Teleporter Bosses And Rares

On the other side of each portal, there are rare enemies, as well as rare items to pick up. The portal at (39, 51) leads to a room with the rare elite Yarxhov The Pillager. By killing the elite, gamers will pick up the quest item “Drum of the Death Loa”. There is also another quest item called Everliving Statuette, which is sitting on the floor in the portal room.

In the second portal there is another rare elite named Xyraxz the Unknowable. Just like the first portal, the rare enemy will drop a quest item, and another can be found in the room. Upon completion, all three of the rare item quests grant 500 reputation and 250 research when completed.

Not only are the teleporter quests great for reputation, they provide more research than legendary relics. Anyone that is grinding to achieve level 6 research should definitely be queuing into these events. Otherwise, it will take an unfathomable amount of time to find 250 Relic Fragments.
