YuGiOh! Kaibas Best Battle City Cards

One of the best anime arcs out there is Yu-Gi-Oh!’s Battle City arc. It is full of action-packed duels, exciting new characters, and, of course, the Egyptian God cards, incredibly powerful monsters that add a whole new layer to the entire arc. The owner of one of these cards, Obelisk the Tormentor, is Seto Kaiba.

Just like every other main character, Seto Kaiba has the most duels in the Battle City arc, so viewers get to see his deck very often throughout. As such, fans also get to see the array of powerful cards that he uses to destroy his opponents. The following list is in no particular order.

10 Obelisk The Tormentor

Of course, one of Kaiba’s most powerful cards is Obelisk the Tormentor, one of the three Egyptian God cards.

Unlike the real-life version of the card, Obelisk’s anime form has effect after effect after effect that essentially makes it invincible unless it is taken on directly by Slifer the Sky Dragon or the Winged Dragon of Ra. This allows Kaiba to win plenty of duels that are headlined by the monster.

9 Pot Of Greed

Pot of Greed, which is a staple in any anime deck, is one of many spell cards that Kaiba uses throughout the Battle City arc.

Pot of Greed allows the player to draw two cards with no downside, which is an incredibly powerful effect in a card game like Yu-Gi-Oh!, in which all of the power that a player holds is in their hand (for the most part). As such, this is a very powerful card for Kaiba to use.

8 Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon

While not exactly a powerhouse in the real-life version of the game, Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon is one of Kaiba’s strongest cards in terms of the raw power that it brings to the table, with 4500 attack points. Technically, it is stronger than Obelisk the Tormentor.

While Kaiba doesn’t use this card all too much throughout Battle City, it does show up from time to time, which is to be expected, as it is the combined form of Kaiba’s ace, Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

7 XYZ-Dragon Cannon

XYZ-Dragon Cannon is another powerful fusion monster that Kaiba had, this one clocking in at 2800 attack points. The card allows the player to discard one card in order to target and destroy one of the opponent’s cards, which, while fine back in the day, doesn’t really do much in the current metagame.

Of course, this is something that rings true for much of Kaiba’s deck in the anime, which played by older and different rules.

6 Card Of Demise

Card of Demise is an incredibly powerful card that allowed Kaiba to draw five new cards as long as he discarded his entire hand five turns later.

Of course, it rarely ever got to the point that he would need to discard those cards, as, by the time that turn had come, he would have already won. It’s easy to see why with an advantage like this, it gives the player a huge leg up that cannot be overcome.

5 The Flute Of Summoning Dragon

The Flute of Summoning Dragon allowed Kaiba to summon two dragon monsters from his hand when Lord of D. was on the field. Of course, he could easily summon two Blue-Eyes White Dragons onto the field with this, or any of the other dragons that he had ready.

While this card also worked for the opponent, it never really mattered, as Kaiba is the master of dragons. It’s always going to serve him best.

4 Crush Card Virus

Crush Card Virus activates when a dark monster with 1000 attack points is destroyed on the player’s side of the field. Upon activation, the player destroys all monsters on the opponent’s side of the field with 1500 attack points, along with each one in the hand and deck.

These monsters then cannot be special summoned from the graveyard. This card was wildly overpowered for the anime.

3 Monster Reborn

Put very simply, Monster Reborn revives a monster. This card works on both the player’s graveyard as well as the opponent, meaning that the most powerful card in the game that has been destroyed can be summoned onto the player’s side of the field.

If this card is played properly, it can be a key piece in winning the duel.

2 Magical Trick Mirror

Magical Trick Mirror can be activated when the player is being attacked. They are allowed to activate this card, which allows them to utilize a spell card from the opponent’s graveyard.

This card can be the key to keeping a player in the game in the middle of a particularly damaging battle phase. Or, it can be used to gain some advantage. Either way, it’s a nice card to have.

1 Silent Doom

Silent Doom is just like Monster Reborn, except the monster must be brought back from the player’s graveyard in defense mode. While it isn’t as strong as Monster Reborn, it can be used in largely the same way.

It’s just a bit slower, which could lead to a few problems. Still, it’s yet another great card to have in the back pocket, as many different situations could call for the use of Silent Doom.
